Who has the smallest member number?

? ? -
Usually +1 and only use bases to locate any "forgotten" bailed out tank crew. Not interested in full squad representation - would rather the processing power be spent on refining the animation/ model of the current representation - ie. make the running more frantic and the "move" or walk sequence more realistic - this is just topping really. Full squad representation is really needed unless each soldier can be given distinct and separate commands - and this level of detail is not required in a computer wargame IMHO.

1240 x 1024 with my ATI Rage 128 - but unfortunately the card does not support fog in the game. -
Hey this is way too cool Looks really great - helmets look better from rear as opposed to front though (IMHO) - more solid & "dirty" - look a bit fresh from front. Just an opinion (and no double entendres intended). Superb work though - it's good to "have" a game with so much sound support behind it.

Which fog of war is most real?

What no FOW ? Surely this leads to no unexpected surprises ? For me (and probably most players) full FOW for a real seat of the pants experience. The last shipping update
getthat_wreckoff_theroad replied to a topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Yeah thanks guys Being a UK kind of guy it'll be perhaps another week before I attain nirvana, but I really think now that everything is up to date you should both go on that holiday you promised yourselves (hold the patches!). First classs, sterling effort - I hope CM will be everything you want and more. It is the most essential piece of software on my HD since windows !!! -
I could be wrong here but I think the delay has also got somthing to to with distance from the HQ unit.

I'd just like to take the opportunity to thank BTS for providing e-mail support for CM. Far too many games neglect this option in favour of TCP/IP support which is fine if your not paying for the phone calls and can find an opponent with a similar timetable - but awful for those who have to pay for their calls and have little and irregular time at their PC. Please, please, please support this option in future releases even though it may not be the most popular way to play the game. Thats it.

How about a separate "Scenario Forum?"
getthat_wreckoff_theroad replied to Juju's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
I thought maybe a separate thread for each scenario available - headed "**SPOILER - " Valley of Trouble" " say. Which would be created either by the guys at BTS (maybe) or the designer of the scenario. What do you think ??? -

What's New in War
getthat_wreckoff_theroad replied to von Lucke's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
No Charles - thank YOU. When it boils down to it I am pretty selfish. I support Battlefront and CM because I believe in its manifesto and CM is the best thing to happen to my PC since it was put together. I have e-mailed editors and as yet am awaiting replies - but I will not give up. I think we all want CM to succeed, not ONLY to show our apreciation to you guys, whom have taken the risk and gone out on a limb to produce something you believe in, but also because we know that you success will spawn future CM's and maybe other people will take note. We can all only gain from this gem you have created. -

No worries I had a brief prob with smoke. When the camera was at a certain angle it wasn't transparent - but was at other angles. Updated graphics driver sorted the problem out. (I did the usual at first - read the readme file and ignored the troubleshooting section). -
Steve / Charles, small request...
getthat_wreckoff_theroad replied to Black Sabot's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
This is prob. an unrealistic idea - but when the game is released with all its 50 scenarios (plus DIY ones) - ther will be a lot of chat about them. I thought maybe each scenario could have a separate thread titled "SPOILER - "Valley of Trouble" " say. That way people could search the forum and chat about a specific scenario without pi$$ing off others. Just an idea. -
I was wondering what the range in height in The Valley scenario was compared to what is possible with the editor. Hill 216 does indeed look steep especially as it has quite low (sunken?) terrain around it. I like the way the heights have a kind of colour graduation - is this something which is automatiically assigned based on height or at the control of the designer ??? As usual, just wondering !

Smoke switches between transparent/non-transparent or off. What prob are you having with smoke??? -
Hi Capn ! - trouble with this game is if you disappear for a few weeks you miss a whole lot of features !!!!

Don't think so - I've had no problems to date. My only (minor) shock was when I was playing both scenarios at the same(ish) time and realised that there was only one autosave (DOH!) - I should have thought - would be nice (but not essential) to have an autosave slot per battle. -

Yet again outstanding. I noticed that the explosions did not circularly radiate out - they were more like the beta. Was this just a compression thing to minimise the download ??? -

Um - I posted a few but missed the meltdown by an hour or so. So I'm not that sorry. It was fun - & if a game can generate this amount of excitement it must be a hit. The meltdown could be good publicity if other forums/people get to know about it. Just as well the full version isn't available for download !!!! -
