  1. Same here Capt. Maneri, I preordered in December '99 and I haven't gotten it yet here in Jersey. All American
  2. If your talking about the symbols HQ units have then I have your answers. THere purpose is to enhance all the units under their C&C. Star= increases C&C radius Question Mark= increases likeliness the unit won't be spotted by enemy Lightning= increases attack Heart= increases likeliness to rally a unit Id the symbol has a box around it then it means the bonus is doubled. 3. No it isn't only in PBEM games. It happens to me almost all the time in games against the AI. All American
  4. There's also this guy called Major Midnight that makes these great setups you can put your soldiers in. I got a bombed out farmhouse from him which I have my two 82nd Airborne guys in and my Germans attacking them. All American
  5. AT infantry teams that actually don't miss Shermans only 30m away from them twice when they aren't even moving. All American
  6. I've been looking for information on the game but I havn't found any either, sorry. All American
  7. I would like a command when a unit stops immediately when it spots a unit and begins firing at it. This would be really useful in dense woods. Also, I would like to see a scout command like Lt Bull suggested too. Both of these would be very useful. All American
  8. Yeah but these infantry men weren't putting fire on my mortar, they were just running through a field and went out of LOS before my mortar could shoot at it meaning I had missed an opportune time to inflict some easy casualities. All American
  9. To start a PBEM game you start a game but instead of picking one player you pick PBEM. Then, you choose your password and setup your troops. You then hit go and you save your PBEM once you pick a name for it. Then, send an email to your opponent with the file you just saved attached to it. You can find the file in you PBEM folder in you Combat Mission folder. Then, wait for your opponent to send the file back to you. You then download the file into you PBEM folder. On the main screen of Combat Mission, you then click on multiplayer and then load email. You then choose the jfile you want to load and you give order and/or watch a turn movie. You then re-save the file and send it back. All American P.S. - Damn it! I just realized I wrote all that for nothing! [This message has been edited by All American (edited 05-22-2000).]
  10. Yeah but what if the tank you immobilize is only 50 meters away from you (just pretend your gunner really sucks or he was jolted since you were on the move)? Would it be unrealistic to be able to see from that distance that the tank had a broken thread? Also, I'm pretty sure the gun sights themselves were magnified so if the TC is toobust to examine the enemy tank because of incoming fire, then surely the gunner would be able to tell since he was targeting the tank in the first place. While I;m not saying that in real life you would be able to tell EVERYtime, BTS does need to find a happy medium which I believe they already have since this feature is also toggle. Back to you JuJu. 11. I have to disagree with you, you can tell in real life if you have immobilized a tank because you would be able to see a broken thread or maybe busted wheels. Same as you could see a gun was brken because it was shot off or bent. However, this can't be depicted in the game because the tanks can't be that detailed, so it would be depriving the player of knowledge that he would know in real life. Also, you don't always know all the damage you've done when you hit a tank. BTS said ealier in a post that a tank gun could be damaged by a penetration that didn't kill the tank but destroyed the firing controls or something like that. In that case, you wouldn't be told the damage was done. All American
  12. I hate to keep saying bad stuff about the best computer game I've ever played, but in VoT as the Germans, I;m having trouble targetting with my 81 mm mortars. I have them for the most part out of sight from the anywhere in front of them but they are still in C&C of the Company HQ which can see a whole lot in front of him. However, sometmes when I have the 81 mm mortars target an area the Company HQ can see, but the 81 mm mortars will begin firing at the area but if an enemy infantry comes into their LOS they will stop firing at the target area and then begin firing at the enemy unit. Is there anyway to solve this or is this a bug in the system? All American P.S. - My apologies if this has already been discussed.
  13. I would have to choose A. I've played the scenario three a times as the Germans with the forces balanced and each time kicked the AI's ass with more and more style. I then beat the AI as the Germans even after giving them a 100% advantage (though it was only a tactical victory). All American
  14. I just wanted to make something clearer. I'm not complaining about the penetration not destroying the tank. That's a definate possibility in real life and I trust BTS's knowledge on tanks, guns, and their armor. What I'm complaining about is the tank reversed out of LOS of my bunker but then went head first into a corner. Even if the gun had been damaged I don't understand why the AI would do this as the tank could still be used as a MG carriage. Also, by going front first into the corner, the tank left itself very exposed not only because it had it's rear to the german lines but it would have a lot of trouble spotting enemy troops (btw, it was destroyed by one my panzerschrecks that sneaked up behind it). I know that it's very difficult to create a perfect AI but someone had had a similar problem with tanks going into corners in the beta demo but BTS responed to the person't post saying they had fixed the problem. All American P.S.-Just remembered that I had seen this happen before in the gold demo when I damaged a tank's gun. I remeber the game ending and I was scrolling through the map when I saw a M4(75) Sherman in the same ccorner that the Sherman in my previous post had heeaded into. However, it's frontal armor was facing the german lines. [This message has been edited by All American (edited 05-21-2000).]
