What about the campaign mode?

This youtube video shows planes disintegrating on high deflection shots, after what must be only a few hits from a .303 or equivalent machinegun round. I'm skeptical of that. Looks nice though.

Quite a long and exciting life.

Doom was a smash hit, so I'm sure this game based movie will be excellent as well.

Spent a few minutes with the beta today and was not impressed. There is potential, the kernel of a good game, but the parts are not there yet.
-
I registered for this today. I'm still on the fence. Whether this works great or not I think depends on how customizable it is, as far as 'tick' length time, number of players invited to a game, etc. We'll see.

Yeah but you suckers keep buying 'em, so get ready for HOI4.

New versions of A&A Europe and A&A Pacific are due for release in a few months. I'm interested in them, but probably won't buy them because I know I will never actually play them. I need an online version.

Saburo Sakai's "Zero Pilot" was very interesting.
This must be a very rare book because it is not even listed on Amazon.
-
the feedback in various forums seems to be that there's a lot wrong in the initial version
Problems in the release version? Of a Paradox product? SSSsssschocking!!

Thunderbolt! by Robert Johnson was pretty good.

The Amazon reviews for this title are all over the map. Is this game finished or not? I notice the website sells additional flyable aircraft, but I'm not sure I'm crazy about that sort of marketing.
-
What's the matter with the traps? The aircraft carrier, I forget the name, is worth a tour.

Can't get this movie on Netflix yet.

It has been a good try. Really it was. But Iraq will never be Japan or Germany, and the idea that we could invade and reconstruct the country in the same way was always based on blind optimism and ignorance of Arab culture. Our goals were never realistic. All the work of the US and coalition forces may well be undone quickly.
Afghanistan is even more hopless of a project, as I see it, than Iraq.
If there were a Land of Cats, you could invade the country and try to get the cats to form a democracy and police force, but I suspect you would fail. The cats just won't fall in line, and they probably don't want to.

Two I have read recently that are fair to good are:
I Flew for the Fuhrer by Heinz Knocke
Ace of the Eighth by Bud Fortier
Looking for more recommendations. Post your favorite here.

At this point I'd say your more likely to get seriously ill from the vaccine then the swineflu.
Good question. What to do? If they make a new vaccine soon, should I accept it? You've got to weigh the risks between a nasty vaccine and the potential for a deadlier mutation of the virus later, that a vaccine may protect you from. Not an easy choice in my opinion. I generally avoid flu shots.

Looks cool. I'd rather have a tactical strategy game than a sim though.

2010? Jeez still a little early for a preview.

The link mentioned that he wrote his memoir recently, in like 2004, so I picked up a signed copy of the first edition. Nice looking book, have not read it yet. He must have signed all the first editions. Still a few floating around, do a google search.
