Your a bit late with thoughts on 1.1, since we're now at 1.10
I guess they don't teach math to the jarheads in basic.
-
No, none at all. Why then was it done?
That's wrong. Allowing all the American investment banks to file bankruptcy would have led to the second great depression. The bailout takes that off the table. That's a good thing. You want bread lines, or what?

Kettler, isn't the real question which U.S. government agency used their weather control devices to create this hurricane in the first place, and why?
-
Socialism is the new capitalism.
But seriously, we've done this before. The S&L crisis got a massive bailout, and the government bailed out Chrysler. There is nothing new under the sun. The country will move on, and the current actions are for the best. There is no sense in riding laissez faire capitalist ideals right into a second great depression.

Okay well you bandied the word invoice around but you didn't define it. To me an invoice is just a piece of paper.
So what about bidding invoice plus tax?
Also, if buying a used or pre-owned car, I don't suppose the buyer has an invoice to look up. Then all you have to go by are comparable listings.

I would worry about this, but I suppose that if a Swiss black hole were to destroy the earth, it would happen so fast, I'd never even know it happened.
Anyway, they probably won't get all the bugs out until December of 2012, when everybody knows the world is supposed to end.

If invoice = dealer cost in the above example, then I see that profit margins on the sticker price are already pretty thin for the dealer on a car, only about $1500 on the above example. Thus I suppose that if you are paying cash, paying sticker+taxes would be a pretty fair buy.

I went to a dealership today with a friend. He was looking at the new Dodge Challengers. A 2008 model on the lot was $21,000 base, $27,000 with included options (sticker), and about $33,000 after all taxes and fees.
In such a situation, how do you know what to bid? How do you come up with a good offer that a dealer might accept?

I've always loved Axis and Allies since I was a kid, and there is a new version coming out in October, the massive Anniversary Edition with new rules and pieces.
-
I'll spoil it for you. The Allies conquer Sicily and Rome. Italy surrenders.
-
I'd like to go on record predicting that the Jets will only improve from 4-12 to 6-10, and the whole Brett Favre thing will be a big letdown.

You can't really lose for $6 but be advised that the newest version is A World Divided, and I'm not really sure if you can patch the original WAW up to the current 1.02 patch.
-
Yeah I don't like the realtime gameplay of HOI. I'm not really a fan of sliders either. The scale is similar between the two games, but WAW is turn based and has PBEM for 4 players. Research is WAW is a little simpler.

I won't do one but there are a lot of AARs on the Matrix forums if you want to read them.

Took a look at the screenshot but that is one ugly map for CWIE. If I'm going to push counters around on the computer, I'd at least appreciate if it was pleasant to look at. I can't deal with the VGA 1992 style graphical presentation anymore.
-
It does, and I was skeptical, but it works. Production is local by region, and the USA units are frozen until war starts, so it really isn't an unrealistic advantage for the Allies. Also, both sides have different graphics.
-
Grigsby's World at War a World Divided is my current game of choice. I like it as a kind of Advanced Axis and Allies, and it's probably the best global scale WW2 game out there now. I'm having trouble finding players. Anybody interested?

She is a teacher, so she isn't exactly about the $. In fact, she works in the school in the lowest socio-economic sector in the area and teaches special ed. Not the fast track to riches.
Well, maybe that's why she keeps you around, eh?

The Georgian President was on CNN today, AFTER coverage of John Edwards' infidelity, of course. The media knows what is important, after all.
The President seemed pretty cool to me, not panicky OH MY GOD THE RUSSIANS ARE GOING TO CONQUER MY COUNTRY in any way. It looks to me, and I suspect he knows, that this is a limited conflict concerning two areas of the country and some pocket population of Russian loyalists/seperatists. Based on what I see on TV, this doesn't look like an all out blitz to wipe Georgia off the map.
This looks like an Israeli incursion into Lebanon type of thing to me, and I suspect it will blow over soon.

I suggest a Nordic solar cross.

Won't anyone think of the children?
It's also well documented that some children were killed during WW2, so I would also appreciate if that conflict were not discussed here either. Thanks.

Sounds like a good add-on module.

Yes I prefer B&N because you never know what they might have in their bargain section.
I bought the Civil War atlas at my local Borders for $5, but now that I was thinking about picking up the Pacific War atlas it looks like they raised the price back to $10.

This is an old joke.
Were the Ewoks driven to extinction by the destruction of the Death Star?

Seems silly. I would imagine much of the debris was blown clear of Endor's orbit in the initial explosion, and much of the debris that would enter orbit would burn up in the atmosphere. An environmental holocaust seems unlikely.
