  1. Just to clear things up even more: an example of an dual-key command is the command to switch ammo types. Default is = and -. I wanted to replace this with a single key (e.g. F3). The main reason is that I couldn't get the = and - to work, which might be because I need to press Shift in order to get the = sign on my keyboard.
  2. Sorry, I wasn't really clear in my description. I have no problems with saving my configuration, but with replacing dual-key commands with a single key I follow your first steps, select a command and click "keyboard". If the command is single key, the dialog "please hit a key or key combination..". is shown. I just press the desired key and all is well. However, if the command is dual-key, another dialog box with three buttons is shown: "click a button to assigne a keyboard key to the command [previous] [next] [ok]" I wasn't able to enter a key from that dialog. I have to click [previous] or [next] to get to the "input" dialog. ("please hit a key or key combination..".) I am able to change the keys, but I am unable to switch a dual-key command to single key.
  3. I tried to join a game today where the server (riptest) said "11/12 players". I refreshed still 11/12, refreshed again: 10/12, and I could join. Is there an unvisible player? From a user perspective it's frustrating not being able to join when I think there is a slot available.
  4. The "end scenario" button might be a bit confusing since it doesn't actually end the game for the player who presses it. It starts a vote if the current scenario should be ended prematurely. "Quit game" quits the current scenario but not the actual game. This is a bit confusing for players who come from Combat Mission and is probably the reason why there is a vote with some regularity.
  5. You can only change keyboard configuration when you're not in a scenario. When playing a scenario, the "save as" button is disabled. A related question: if a command had two keystrokes I can't change it to one. I can change which keys to use, but cannot change from two keys to one key. I can change to the same key twice, but I'm not sure if that'll work.

    PDF Manual

No fonts are disbled in Font Book. However, the only fonts available in the PDF Collection are: Courier, Helvetica, Symbol, Times and Zapf Dingbats. I dont have 10.4.5 which is requried by the game (still on 10.3.9), so it might be a version issue as it seem to work for you guys.
  7. Hey, you're from Finland. You should be used to that!

    PDF Manual

This is the first PDF I have encountered that Preview is unable to read. I can read it on my PC (with Acrobat Reader), so it's not a showstopper for me. My guess is that is has something to do with the fonts used in the PDF. Anyone else having problems with Preview?

    PDF Manual

I'm having problems reading the PDF manual on my Mac. I haven't installed DT on the Mac (Mac mini running 10.3.9), but wanted to read the manual from it. I opened the manual in Preview (no Acrobat Reader installed). Almost all characters (but not digits) are garbage (mostly small 'squares'). Images are displayed OK. I downloaded the Mac version and tried to open the PDF manual from the disk image (without installing DT) . When doing this I got a: "File Error Couldn't open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn't recognize." The PDF rom the web (or from the PC installation) opens, but is unreadable.
  10. I'll try the extract option. I guess I should take a closer look at all available commands.... The inventory aspect isn't obvious, that could be the reason people kill themselves rather than risking getting killed. I guess that'll change when real campaigns are played.

    Great game!

Yeah! The Hurricane is fun, but getting up the slopes on the "green" world can be a bit frustrating. But it's great on the icy fields where wheeled vehicles just spin. The Shrike is pretty fun too! It looks like a radio-controlled car when it bounces arond.
  12. Just wondering about the "kill yourself" option. It seems to be the only way out when you're out of ammo or stuck, if you don't want to spend the rest of the game doing nothing. It also seems to be a way to cheat the opponent by killing yourself before the incoming round/missile hits. At least that's the impression I get from a couple of hours playing today. I guess I lose points for every vehicle I lose, but do I lose the same amount regardless of how the vehicle is killed? But if I kill myself, I guess the opponent won't get any points for killing me?
  13. Fallen trees move when driven over by a vehicle. Very cool! And driving over a tree may be enough to make a vehicle flip over on its back and burn. Just as dropping them on a slope. Takes some time getting used to, I guess.
  14. Two minor things about the "register New Account" and login screens: 1. Password is visible in plain text. Shouldn't it be **** and repeated (two text boxes for password)? Maybe visible passwords are more common in games than other applications? 2. I can't tab between username and password text boxes.
  15. In the thread "Modeling air support" there is some discussion of the various types of air support available.
  16. Really? I had the impression deflection wasn't much of an issue for APFSDS-type penetrators. Will a APFSDS really ricochet off the armour? Look at the original Leopard 2. If deflection was important, they wouldn't have designed it with vertical turret armour. The improved versions have a wedge-shaped addon-armour, but if rounds were deflected, you would risk rounds hitting the lower part of the wedge being deflected downwards towards the relatively thin armour above the driver's compartment. (Like the first versions of the Panther). Sloping armour was important to deflect rounds, but I don't think that aspect is important anymore. In case of HEAT, the longer distance created by sloping armour is definitely an issue.
  17. Speaking of Mac: I assume Drop Team will be a Universal binary?

  19. mav1, have you read these threads? They should give a good idea what CM:Shock Force is about. http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=52;t=000124 http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=52;t=000289
  20. In a thread with the same name this was said: first thread in the drop Team forum. I don't think you'll have any problems, Iceman. A quote from May, 2005:
  21. All HEAT hits I've seen have some kind of "splash" marks. What makes these splash marks typical for a Maverick? How do they differ from a Hellfire or Kornet? The diameter of the hole created by the HEAT jet is dependent on the calibre of the round and the design of the liner. But the hole is pretty small regardless of caliber.
  22. Check his post in the "microwave" thread. But put on your tinfoil hat first.
  23. Does a tinfoil hat protect against microwave weapons?
  24. Amazing! I got curious about your sig and googled a bit to find out what you meant by "Patton was silenced on December 23, 1945". Did he actually talk for two days after his death?
  25. HEAT will make a small hole in a concrete wall, HEP/HESH will blow away the concrete over a larger area. However, the steel reinforcement (if any) may still be intact and prevent entry. IIRC, HEP/HESH is less effective against armour with layers of different materials or with air spaces between layers of armour.
