  1. I'm currently starting a scenario from The Few Good Men, Hamelin-Spear and Shield HvsH v2 via PBEM++.  The blue forces are not deployed, just clumped together leaving the blue player to deploy obsticles, mines, wire, foxholes, trenches and TRP's in addition to the blue forces.  What I've discovered is that you can't save during the setup.  If you do, then reopen the turn you saved using the save game command in the menu, all of your setup is lost and you have to start from scratch. I'm finding that very frustrating.  My recollection is that this didn't happen in earlier titles.

Is this a problem with PBEM++ or is it a bug or feature? Has anyone else noted this?

Oh, wait, this is CW PBEM++ game.  So, not exactly a "debacle".  The patch is being final tested which required that games be at 1.06 for PBEM++   Unfortunately that means that existing games will be on hold for just a little bit. I don't think @BFCElvis has had any luck in getting Matrix to work around that somehow.

No, @BFCElvissaid that they had reverted the PBEM++ server so that ver 1.06 is no longer required.  The debacle I was referring to was stopping everyone's 1.05 game so that ver 1.06 could be tested.

I have no idea if there is a link between my problem saving a turn in PBEM++ and the 1.06 test.

That's *usually* an issue with the Matrix/Slitherene servers. I"ve had that in other games that use the system. It usually clears up after a delay (which can be lengthy).

This has been going on since the 1.06 debacle.  Initially it happened with a battle with another opponent too, but that seems to have corrected itself.  The problem with this battle/opponent has lasted for a week or so.

The fact that some  of the scenario names end in number really messes with the PBEM numbers.

First turn auto names from "Tank training 1980" -> "Tank training 1981" -> "Tank training 1982" and so on.....

should be "Tank training 1980 001" but I think this is "engine limitation" so I renamed to "1980 Tank training 001". I think this should be the fix implemented to the game.

I agree.  This is a pain, especially using programs like CM Helper or Who's Turn is it?

  5. Playing Mittelaschenbach PBEM as the US.  My A company command tank had just called for artillery when it was hit and destroyed, although the full crew was able to bailout.

Despite its vehicle having been destroyed and having no radio, the dismounted crew was able to complete the fire mission and call new artillery and air support missions.

This appears to be a bug...
