  1. Just a quick .02 cents. I can see how you would know an unidentifed vehicle is abandoned. I often targeted "tank?"s before. If you hit them and the crew bails. You know the tank is abandoned even if your still not sure what model it is. 2. It would be best if you e-mailed BTS before you just order a second copy. Did you get a confermation e-mail? Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  3. Apoc, That would be nice. A scenario designer could offer a few of those placed in decent places for a defensive map. Then it would be up to the player to use them or not. Pretty good idea, just wish there was something mobile that could be used. 4. Jonh, covered foxholes would be a nice touch. Maybe in the future. The dug in tanks aren't what you are thinking. The Germans would sometimes bury a tank all the way upto the turret. Placed in the right place it is deadly. Hard to spot, hard to hit, almost impossible to destory. Granted the crew would have to be fanatics. Because it is a suicide mission. no escape route. I know you are talking of tankers building earthern walls in front of their tanks to provide them a hull down defensive status on all sides, except for a back slope to back out of. I think this would be a great idea. Basicaly a big tank foxhole. I'm just not sure how CM's code would handle the driving in and out of it. I think thats the problem. 5. umm... beer.... I'll take a nice Guinness, If I'm broke killians red is ok in a bind. I prefer my Friend O'brians home brew. He makes some great Mead. The trick is not being cheep. Use good honey. We find that clover honey works best. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  6. Allan, Are you hiding your guys in the hedgerows? or behind them? If your unit says it it is hedgerow/bocage, then your actualy in it. Easy to be spotted from both sides. However if your hiding behind it, it should be hard to sopt your units. Works the same as walls. If you unit says it is in/on a wall tile. They are actualy on the wall. not behind it. 7. OK, I Got some feedback. It seems I screwed up on starting camera angels during setup. I didn't realize you had to set it for both sides. Will post the fix first thing in the morning. 8. I guess I'll add my wish in here too. I'd like to see some railway bridges. Even if it is just two tiles. One wooden low, and one wooden large. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  9. Do you know if there are any plans in the future to add a railway bridge tile? It seems that the only way a track can cross water now is using a road bridge. It just looks a little odd. Doesn't matter either way, I was just wondering. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  10. Rob, Just take the files they are sending you and upload them to your site using Yahoo's file manager. Then you just make a link to the file (like it was a web page) Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  11. well.. Since I finally got my Copy of CM... WOOHOO !! WOOHOO !! (sorry couldn't help it.) ...and since no one else has sent me any scenarios to make avalible for download... I figured. What the Heck. So I created my own. Its a meeting engagment in light snow around a little village called Antan. It is my fist scenario and I hope you guys like it. I'd really like to hear some feedback as to what could be better or changed for future scenarios. Things like, map size compaired to forces involved, Force balance, varied terrain, stuff like that. and yes I did play test it, but it is hard to be objective when you know exactly what both sides have. Thanks Lorak P.S. The editor is a breeze to use. ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring [This message has been edited by Lorak (edited 06-27-2000).]
  12. Rob to use the URL tags. place right before your address. no spaces and right after your address. no spaces. ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  13. LOL Matt... But I prefer the sig links. opens up a new window from here. When people post updates you can see what they are talking about. easier to navigate. Passes time for those of us with no game. I'm too damn lazy to type..... 14. Cripes Apoc! Why did you have your guys so close? Also was it all from grenades? or could one of your guys used a satchel charge? Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  15. Rob, Just a little hint. You need to add URL tags in your sig. That will let people link to your site from here. Matts address should be: http://combathq.thegamers.net/ Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  16. now Fionn.... I didn't think you started messing with peoples heads until the e-mails actualy started ... propaganda at work... Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  17. Bill Wood, Just wondering. Did you ever wargame at the dragon's nest in winston-salem? When I was younger there was a group of us that gamed there on saturdays and sundays. I know it is a shot in the dark..but what the hell. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  18. jmac... You'd just shoot your eye out. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  19. Jmac.... I'll try to explain this the best I can. 1. I believe the camera angle does reset when you change views. (haven't got the game yet, so I'm not positive) 2. Your getting a hard time because your using all capital letters. On the net that is considered YELLING! It also makes your post hard to read. 20. Actualy Manta.... I'm in no way a grog. But the grease gun was not a WWI weapon. The US army had to find a cheaper SMG to replace the thompson. Thompsons were all hand made and even then cost the US about $350 dollars per gun. Thus the Developed the grease gun. It was a stamped gun that was was easy to assemble and could be modified in the field to even use 9mm amunition. I think they could be made for about 3 or 4 dollars per unit. 21. no Panzer... Manta Ray was pulling your leg. He is a good one for the sarcasm. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  22. NP Manx, You've got a great site yourself. One question I did just get.. "how do you Get your picture in the background to stay fixed? It looks like the text floats on it." Easy. Microsofts Explorer supports Fixed backgrounds. Sorry, I don't believe Netscape users can see this effect. The command you want to add to your brackground code is: BGPROPERTIES=FIXED From my page. ...BODY BACKGROUND="stugb.jpg" BGPROPERTIES=FIXED BGCOLOR="#FFFFE8" LINK="BLUE" VLINK="RED" ALINK="#FF8000" pretty simple for a neat effect. 23. Greetings all. Too those who have visited my site.. Thanks. A couple questions answered. Some people have asked where I got the pencil artwork on the front page (new to CM). It says a lot that someone thought that a screenshot was hand drawn, and thanks goto Matt for the screen shot I used. A couple others ask about the music. The original music was "the celts" by Enya. One of my favorite artist. Music now playing is the "COMBAT" TV show music. Thanks Wild Bill for the idea when reading you had done "hills are for heroes". Now for some feedback. I've started a screenshot area for those of you that have a hero or a favorite shot you want posted. Just E-mail me the pic. Scenarios: No I haven't got any yet. Hopefully soon. One thing I haven't seen is just a place for plain Maps. If you have designed a Map you would like for people to be able to download. I'd be happy to post those in my scenario section under MAPS. Just send the File and a screenshot would be nice. Question: I'm thinking of adding a movie section. If something really cool/odd happened in a trun that you want share. I'd post that with the password. My question is.. Do you think that would be a good section? would any of you like to post some turn movies? Thats about it. thanks Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring
  24. Hello Fionn... I'm still waiting for CM to arrive... But we do have a rematch coming. Just leave a spot open for me.
