  1. I am 35, married for 13 years with 4 beautiful kids. Started war gaming on the Apple II and have bought WAY too much of that stuff to have any retirement savings. I work as an IT consultant and live in the Colorado mountains. Mike
  2. Danno, I am in Colorado. Could usually start play at about 8:30PM or so, after the kiddies are off to bed. Mike
  3. I am a CPA turned VB/SQL 7 consultant for the financial services industry by day, and father and dad to 4 great kids at night. Been playing computer games since they came in little baggies for the Apple IIc, and have always longed for something like CM. Mike
  4. The right side valley is the way I went. I lost a platoon on the left, but when the reinforcements showed up I put them on the left center ridge. They took out the pillboxes, then immideatly retreated when the Panther shows. Lost 2 Shermans but got the others in the right valley. Captured the ville and the pushed up the final hill on the right. I held 2 Shermans just underneath the crest in an overlaping fire field, and guess what, the Panther walks right into the trap. It was killed on about the 5th shot from the Shermans. After that the Axis surrender and I had a nice victory. I must say that this game is what I have always hoped for; incredible job BTS. I am really feeling for the guys out there on the field getting chewed up and trying to defend a position just one more minute. And I also really like the Arty, it is loud and effective. Again, great job BTS, let us know how we can help your marketing effort so you guys have bucko bucks for CM2. Mike
  5. Just an update on my own message: When I manually extract it with PKZIP things are just fine, running the self-extract doesn't work for me. Mike
  6. OK, am I too stupid or what? I run the executable and live the path set to c:\ and I get 688 warnings that the file can't be extracted. BTW, am running W2K. Help please. Mike
  7. Thanks guys, get some sleep, or beer, or both! I should have it downloaded by morning on the old 28.8. Telephony infrastructure bites in the mountains, and DirecPC doesn't have a W2K driver, so back to the 2k download it is. Mike
  8. Denver and the Rocky Mountain West would enjoy a demo session. And the skiing is GRRREAT this time of year. Pitkiller
  9. Philp Morris might like the old Rauchen groups (they are GREAT for sales), but in reality the word you are looking for is "Rotten" not "Rauchen". A "Rotte" in german would be a group, while "Rauchen" has been adequately explained. Mike
  10. Sounds like an easy way to a great rank with no risk. Sorry fellas, very boring! Mike
  11. I want to try PBEM: PBEM Experience: None Location: Colorado, USA CM Experience: ~12 Games vs AI Frequency: 1 Turn/ Day Average E-Mail: mkjhartmann@yahoo.com This could be fun. I payed on game of CC3 online and I still remember it!
  12. Matt, I speak fluent German, born over there, and am a professional software development project manager. I do a lot of DB stuff for businesses, mostly SQL 7 and Access, plain vanilla but profitable technologies. I am ready to do some of this. BTW, CM is great in sofar as I have not bought another game since I downloaded the Demo. Nothing, but nothing even comes close to the quality and exitement of that product. Mike
  13. My prayers are with you and your loved one. Forget the game; it's just entertainment the other stuff is life! Mike
  14. Thanks for the update Steve. I assume the engine has changed so much since the beta demo that the release of one additional scenario, to make the time go by quicker, would be impossible? Just asking and waiting. Mike
  15. Remember art is never done!!! CM is approaching art status. Just my feelings on day after I HAD to ship software. Sometimes it just has to be done, no ifs or buts. Ducking now. Mike
