1. SPOILER I agree with Vader. All T-34's bar one (hiding on a map edge) continued to file into the Pz kill zones. The infantry never threatened. Must be luck of the draw.
2. The disparity in delivery times within a state is strange. Eg, I'm in Adelaide CBD and have not received my copy yet a bloke in rural SA received his a couple of days ago. Strange stuff. I just upgraded my video card for this too!
3. I have the same problem. Demo loads fine. After I select 'start game' I am booted to the desktop. System specs: P3 500 Voodoo 2 SB Live 320 MB RAM Win 98 I think I may have affirmed your voodoo 2 theory.
4. Voxman is entitled to his opinion. Why jump to the defense of the game - if it is as good as you suggest, it will defend itself in due course. [ August 16, 2002, 05:12 AM: Message edited by: krm ]
5. David, I abstracted the distances slightly. The map I had was complemented with a scale which I used to divide up the map into grids of 20 x 20m. I went from there. The distances are not exact, (probably not even close) but it is a good size map. Maastrician- the bunker is actually meant to represent a MG nest that was hidden in trees at the tope of the hill. In reality, the nest was useless, because it only had Los (as you discovered) of a very limited nature. It is really only of significance if the US advance (early on) past Roadblock 2. You will notice that the other bunker has LOS to block 4, but of limited nature. The nests that these represent were historically of limited effectiveness. As for the direction, you are probably right. It was an oversight, but of relative insignificance. Would the scenario benefit if the bunkers were less restricted in disposition?
6. Heinz, you should have played it as Amis first. In fact, playing as Germans was not really planned for. ------------------ Der Kessel Home of "Die Sturmgruppe"; Scenario Design Group for Combat Mission. [This message has been edited by krm (edited 03-25-2001).]
7. As the designer, I'll tell you that any victory is good first time round. And yes, any feedback is welcome. Thanks guys. ------------------ Der Kessel Home of "Die Sturmgruppe"; Scenario Design Group for Combat Mission. [This message has been edited by krm (edited 03-21-2001).]
8. The area around Son itself is just plain stupid. Too many jaggies and undulations. There are also a heap of un-natural peaks and troughs in the initial battles. It was one of the first ops I did and it was rushed. I did fix some of the problems and I totally redid the Son area, but I'm still not happy enough with it too release it. If you liked this one though, try out my others at Der Kessel - Haut Fornel and the soon to appear Foucarville Roadblocks. ------------------ Der Kessel Home of "Die Sturmgruppe"; Scenario Design Group for Combat Mission. 9. Thanks. Its been on the backburner for a long time. There were too many problems with the map and too many similar battles. Just another couple of wasted hours I gues : ) ------------------ Der Kessel Home of "Die Sturmgruppe"; Scenario Design Group for Combat Mission. 10. I assume you're talking about the scenario Totalize from Der Kessel? I tested this scenario several times from the Axis side and whilst I managed to win, I wouldn't have said it was easy. As you said, you have only played through half of the scenario - there is a lot more to come. You will also find that if you are more aggressive and actually attempt to pursue your objectives, which are the capture of the allied held VF's, you will find it far more difficult. Obviously if you sit back with your Tigers, you're not going to have much trouble plunking the majority of the allied tanks at long range. I didn't encounter as much allied air support as I expected, but it did make an appearance. Remember, you have several AA guns as the Germans, all of which can concentrate their fire on incoming allied aircraft. ------------------ Der Kessel Home of "Die Sturmgruppe"; Scenario Design Group for Combat Mission. 13. We have some great scenarios already up and more in the pipeline from some very good designers. 14. CM 2 will be a separate game. Hopefully, all advances made will be backwards compatible with CM1 - that is the plan anyway. ------------------ I only open my mouth to change feet. [This message has been edited by krm (edited 09-08-2000).]
15. Jabos is a tough one as Germans. I played it the other night, and was dealt similar punishment to you in the first few turns. If you want to know how many fighters the allies have, open up the file in the scenario editor. You'll be absolutely flaberghasted ------------------ I only open my mouth to change feet. 17. S P O I L E R If you want to be on the receiving end Jochen, play WBW new scenario, 'Meyers Wrath'. ------------------ I only open my mouth to change feet. [This message has been edited by krm (edited 09-02-2000).]

19. I have several - Oosterbeek and Groesbeek Landing Zones, Oosterbeek Cauldron, Groesbeek Heights, the Tulip Fields They're in testing at the moment, so hopefully not too long [This message has been edited by krm (edited 09-01-2000).]
20. Whilst you could alter the bmp's that related to one house, the terrain effect would be the same. It would still recognise the structure as intact
21. The allies must have assault boats. The AI is not capable of handling assault boats at this stage, so you can only play (1 Player) the army with the boats
22.
quote:
Yeah, I'm all for more vehicles AFAIK no Ferdinands were used in NW Europe...

According to Charles Whiting, in his book "Siegfried", Ferdinands from the 34th Assault Gun Brigade were used in the defense of the Siegfried line, and came up against Task Force Rose from the US 3rd Armoured Division. However, I would seriously question the veracity of his account, as he recalls the Ferdinand as having a 90mm Main Gun, and the M4 Sherman as having a 77mm Main Gun
23. Moon translated the German and Polish ingame voices, and they are posted at the Annex under golden BB's. http://cmhq.tzo.com
24. For me Night at Cheneux was excellent. Fierce, fast and action packed. I also liked the user made scenario "A Ten Minute Break".
