I think you are making a very naive reading of the Space Thing post. Seems like some subtle propaganda pamphlet to me... Like: "Hey! Is better Fascism than Communism! They killed less people and they defend Private Property after all!". This is an exageration to the sole purpose of illustrate my point, I'm not assuming that it is the Space Thing way of thinking.
