  1. The Supreme Court ruled last week that people don't have the right to form class action lawsuits anymore. Seriously. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/28/business/28bizcourt.html
  2. You guys all look vaguely familiar. And the video AAR looks great!
  3. Nice story, Slapdragon... LMAO G4 400 Sawtooth 512MB RAM 32MB AGP Radeon Graphics card Modded past comprehension With completely separate installs for the Desert Rats Another for Mod Testing Another Plain Vanilla for when things get FUBARred And soon to be another for the Normandy mod Can't wait for CM:BB for an end to the mod limit on the graphics resource files!!
  4. Okay, about MacArthur not scrambling his bombers in the Phillipines -- I'm not 100% sure about this but I seem to recall reading in grad school that the B17s were scrambled to protect them as soon as they got word of the attack on Pearl. Unfortunately, the Japanese planes struck the airfields there many hours later. By that time, the US bombers had already returned and landed and people were starting to relax a little bit. I could be wrong and I don't have access to my sources here, but that's the way I remember it. ps - MacArthur still sucked. Vetch -------------- They're ivory. Only a New Orleans pimp would carry pearl handled revolvers. Patton
  5. Ok, I'll bite. Will the Mac version of CM:BB have a new file structure for graphics files so that mod sluts like me can mod to their hearts content? 16MB resource files aren't large enough to have high-res mods for many of the vehicles in CM1 and with even more vehicles in CM2 I can only see this getting worse unless you guys plan to address it directly. Sorry if I've missed the answer to this one somewhere already. Vetch
  6. Can I join the line begging for this one to be emailed? Thanks! vetch@earthlink.net
  7. Marco, A big thank you for your Sherman/Stuart total conversion. If I were only going to install one mod -- this would have to be it. It's that much of an improvement. Please, please, please finish and release the low rez version. Those of us on macs or currently limited in our modding by the total capacity of the graphics resource files that the .bmps ultimately get stored in. If we put in too many hi rez mods things don't just slow down, they blow up and we start getting frankenstein vehicles with missing and/or mismatched textures. Every quality low-rez mod that comes down the pike helps alleviate this problem -- especially the big total conversion packs like yours that do whole classes of vehicles at a time. Thanks again for your amazing work. Vetch <--------Certified mod junkie
  8. For what it's worth, this isn't just a problem that affects the winter mods. I originally hit the resource limit due to winter mods in graphics 13 on my mac like many of you. I did a clean reinstall and then decided to forego almost all winter mods (excepting only the axis infantry in those cool jumpsuits) -- if the summer vehicle mod is awesome who cares if you still see it in the snow. I also went very sparing on the other mods I put in -- choosing low-rez replacements where possible and making do with the CM orinigals in many cases. Yesterday though I was enticed into doing a total conversion of all the german halftracks into the new (Fernando I think) bicolor mods. All went well until the last batch of mods--the 251/2, 251/9, 251/16 group. Here when I went to install I ran into the resource limit in graphics 4. At one point CM Mac Mod seems to have deleted the .bmp resource but failed to replace it with a new one. I guess I'll try manual surgery in resEdit going in and getting that file from the orginal, pasting it in and replacing it. If anybody has any better ideas, I'd love to hear them. Exactly how much leeway do we have with where we store the game textures? If we can store winter textures in graphics 13 or 11 does that mean that we can store summer textures elsewhere as well? Or does the game engine only look in certain places expecting to find them? Anybody know the answer to that one? I'm now on my 5th or so reinstall just from mod overload and it's getting very, very frustrating. And as I said, I'm tring to be sparing with the mod usage and I'm still being bitten on the butt.
  9. Just wanted to chime in and say that the TCP/IP lockups are real and are happening to both mac and pc users. If you haven't had a great match become unplayable in the middle in 1.12 because of this, count yourself lucky. Thank god it doesn't happen all that frequently. But I sure do hope they can track it down. On than that I'm happy to see them slogging away on the next game.
  10. Kump, I like your mod a lot. Just one thing -- Do you have a hi-rez version? Marco Bergman and Tiger have spoiled me.
  11. Anybody looking at buying a new laptop should take a good look at the new apple g4 titanium powerbook. Freaking unbelievable. www.apple.com
  12. Just wanted to post good news here for a change. Just downloaded Open GL 1.2.1 as part of the CroMag Rally demo as someone else on the board (sorry, forgot who) recommended and this fixed all the problems that my Radeon was having with CM. Text is working properly now as is fog. I was crossing my fingers that the 1.2.1 release of OpenGL would fix everything but I somehow missed that Apple let it slip out with that CroMagRally demo. If any of you other mac folks are having problems with an ATi card, give this a try. You can find a link to the CroMagRally demo at www.insidemacgames.com.
  13. You might try installing the new OpenGL 1.2.1 version. It fixed all sorts of problems with CM and my Radeon card. 1.2.1 will be released officially as part of OS 9.1 but a pre-release version is included with the CroMag Rally demo. You can find a link to it at www.insidemacgames.com. Good luck.
  14. The best article I saw was in a San Francisco paper last week. Apparently Wavy Gravy has been running a presidential campaign for several years now for the candidate "Nobody", saying that America doesn't really need a president. He said he was surprised but pleased that Nobody finally won the election this year after all of his tireless campaigning on his behalf. Nobody is clearly a candidate that the people can rally behind he said. And we can see why. Nobody delivers on his campaign promises, Nobody will lower your taxes, Nobody will put the issues ahead of politics. I was laughing my bleep off. Vetch
