I see no reason to be so aggressive against @IanL. He has tried to replicate your issue directly in the "Passage at Wilcox" scenario. Having so many variables to consider, it is perfectly normal that one cannot see the same thing. That is why those pathfinding issues are hard to understand in order to solve them. Firing the editor, I was hoping to have less variable in the loop and going directly to the issue in the less amount of time possible. I think I was lucky, that's all.
I am not sure this is exactly the same but yes sometimes I see something weird. Hope this will guide the guys in the good direction for understanding the root cause.

Just out of curiosity, what do you do that you are constantly mucking with your PC? I have rebuilt mine, then upgraded to win 8' then moved to a bigger SSD over the past year and I have yet to have to ask for an activation. Perhaps you should just keep a PC for the game that you don't screw with so often. Maybe not the best answer, but if you KNOW you have little time for the game, it seems your own habits are infringing on your play time.

And we don't get why you are having a hard time wrapping your head around this. This is not a release of a video of downtown abbey preordering does not give you a date. There is absolutely no difference between an electronic preorder and ordering the day it is announced. Get over it. Pre orders are made for orders that require special effort printing and packaging. Electronic downloads require nothing so there is no pressing reason other than your angst to do so.

It's the opposite for me, I'm slowing down vs. earlier attempts, that at least started at 1 MB/s and fluctuated upwards from that before going back down.  I'm depressingly sure that this 2-3 hour download is going to fail as well.  Anyone know anyone at Battlefront personally?  They seem to think that a bunch of us are liars or something, because they are not responding.  Will it take me doing a chargeback with my credit card company to get their attention?  Because if i don't get what I paid for, I'm not going to let them keep my money.  I'm getting more and more sour by the minute, and you haven't seen anything yet.  Sorry to do this here, but I don't like this one bit, and this is the most I paid for a game in quite a while, as well as a big friggin waste of my home bandwidth.  I surely could have done a lot of other things today if they had told us downloading today was futile.  No communication means angry customers, especially when we follow their tech support advice on their own pages.

Ahah, that explains everything. You never looked into it, you never considered it. And thus you do not know what you are talking about. Seriously, at this point you are as qualified to talk about this subject as any other person on this forum who has read the publicly available text on Steam's website.

Instead of people asking you to go to Steam, they need to ask you to do your research and consider it (after doing the research). And no, you will not go broke by doing this sort of research, a freaking intern can even do this sort of work. I'm not asking you to commit to anything, you simply gather all the information you need to come to an informed decision on whether you want to commit.

Well the beauty of the way BFC is developing the game now is that should they ever decide to go onto Steam at some point in the future all the games they make will be up to date and current.  So really there is no need to rush onto Steam.  Maybe if sales slow to a trickle at some point then going onto Steam will make some sense.  BFC can also take their time and polish the game up and prepare themselves for Steam if that's a route they want to try. So you never know.  BFC has dealt with different ways of publishing ... I think ShockForce was sold in actual stores .... they just have an aversion to dealing with publishers.  I don't get the impression that BFC is absolutely 100% against it no matter what.  I am under the impression that they are continuously evaluating what their options for distribution are and at this time they have decided not to go the Steam route.  That doesn't mean that we won't all wake up one morning and see BFC games on Steam some day.  I doubt that forum postings are going to sway them one way or another though.  I'm sure the decision will be made in a deliberate fashion when or if it makes sense for BFC to go onto Steam.

I think that if BFC ever decided to go onto Steam they would want to do so making sure all their T's were crossed and the game was as polished as they could make it.  What is it that they say?  You never have a second chance to make a first impression, so if your game will suddenly be exposed to a larger audience you want to ensure that you are putting your best foot forward.
