  1. Yeah. I had the same issue and solution. I did go through several posts and emails noting that "you'll never need the original activation code again" lol.
  2. Ah, good, someone posted in the main thread. The answer is that you have to run the Activation screen twice, and activate once with the original key, and then with the new key. (Reverse order of activation is acceptable too.) There is no prompt to tell you this, but the game will work after the second code is input. Don't worry if you've put one code in multiple times, it will still work when the second code is put in.
  3. Don't delete it. Having a similar issue here. What did you read that fixed it for you? What steps did you take to fix it? I installed the full CMSF2 Upgrade suite, then fired it up and Activated it with original CMSF1 key. Activation reported successful. Hit play. Got window with firing vehicle pic in it, no text or anything else. Window was hung. Closed it, fired it up again - and it wants me to activate again. Same process ensues. What should I do to fix this?
  4. I definitely have had to adapt my tactics to be more mobile and aggressive with infantry, in order to survive. The body armor clearly helps with that.
  5. Yes, I was sure today was the day. Sigh. Not many days left in April...

What about Opteron dual cores? Anyone test on those?
  7. Well, I stand corrected. It looks from the SAIC website like an in-house developed advertising tool. So I'm guessing it comes from their marketing budget. I thought it was a system coming into deployment and hence developed under contract, but I see that's not the case.
  8. Odd to think that every dime I pay in taxes from now until the day I die will be going to go towards paying for the development of that 'free' game. Well, the Army designs all sorts of games. This is most likely an adaptation of an existing game that was modified for recruitment. Even if it's purpose-built, if it brings in people, it's worth the money. At least now you won't be worried any of your money will be going to any other things that bother you. Small price to lose all that frustration!
  9. With an ATI X1800, setting anti-aliasing on renders text unreadable at all but the lowest resolutions
  10. I've played the first scenario (Archipelagoes) and I'm enjoying the game. However, I noticed that after I gave the two other vehicles orders to move across a bridge to an island, when they got there they were engaged by a unit. In reacting, one somehow broadsided the other, and they started flailing around stuck together. I had to jump into one to seperate them. After that, they would not go where I ordered them. Eventually I got one moving in the right direction; the other one turned around and headed back the way it had come. Not sure why, just wanted to ask whether there is still work going on with the movement algorithms. Any other oddities worth knowing about for a new player?
  11. As to the question about how many troops the US has "left" to deal with new conflicts, here's a good site to start with. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/global-deployments.htm I'd assume another brigade or two was deployed to Iraq around the time of the recent elections. Just a data point.
  12. I also just got it and am happily driving around. Very immersive so far. I like the fact that I can control the engine by sound, just like a car with a manual stick. Makes things a lot easier when driving, and speaks well of the simulation of the engine. Graphics are very nice too - a few jaggies on the horizon but plenty of brush and grasses and the like to catch the eye. Oddly, the tracking site never registered the package, so I didn't know it would show up today. Luckily it fit in the mailbox.
  13. Quebec is a great place to visit. Quebec City has a lot to interest folks. The fortress especially is a good time. Excellent food, friendly people and beautiful scenery. I love going up there.
