It's really, really good to be back.

I'm playing through the tutorial campaign, and I've had the same problem in consecutive battles. I've cleared out objectives completely, but I'm not securing them for some reason. I've sent a platoon hither and yon to make sure there were no Krauts hiding in closets or something, but nada. Is there a particular mechanic that I'm missing here?

Alot of returning CMx1 people returning. Like myself .

Yep. It's like Homecoming.

I was there. I remember. The sound was...horrible...
So good to be back.

Man it's good to see discussions like this starting to rage again!

Great work, Tom. I've been lurking intermittently for quite awhile, and this was one-stop shopping for a status report

Yep, good to see some of the old timers back in force.

Done and Done. Thanks guys, time to dust off my CM-thinking cap!

Can't make it. Jealous...very jealous

Haven't been lurking around much, but I'm glad to see things are popping. I'm out of town that w-end, but if someone wants to sit around and get their behinds handed to them all day, it'll be like I was there
Have fun, guys.

Ditto...except my little girl will be 7 weeksOriginally posted by Spanish Bombs:Would hope to make it, at least for a little while, but with a 6-week old baby calling all the shots, I can't make any guarantees. If anyone is on the fence, I can report that, having made a couple of these get-to-gethers, they are worth the effort.

I'd love to get to another gathering. My wife and I just had our first baby on Dec. 3rd, so the schedule is kinda messed up. But I should be able to slip out for a few hours of "therapy".

I've replaced the CMBB splash screen several times with no ill effects.
Then I d/l and installed the Stalingrad Pack. I LOVE the scenarios, but I'm not enamored of the splash screen that accompanies them. So I go to replace it like I had in the past, but it won't go away. It's like the creature that wouldn't leave
Any tips? What am I missing other than my mind? We just had our first baby last week, so my head is a little cluttered these days.
Thanks for any help.

Hi, Mom!

What staggers me about this thread is that anyone could consider this issue a "serious game problem." IMHO a serious problem would have a substantial impact on the enjoyment and playability of the game.
Having potentially ahistorical outcomes in a relatively small portion of the game just doesn't get close to rising to that level.
If these issues are gamebreakers for anyone, I have far more pity for them than resentment at BTS for the shortcomings of the engine.

Not to brag...ok, to brag...but I had a T-34 take dole out 94 infantry casualties in a CMBB game this week.
I've got the screenie to prove it, but don't know how to post it LOL

DL the SU-152 ok, but then tried to get some of the T-34's and was rejected b/c the ftp server won't accept "anonymous" logins. Any ideas?

Never started any sort of brag thread before, but this was so cool, and unprecedented in my play, that I have to pipe up.
Played a QB as Sov's. German assault, +100% against a village held by my motorized inf. It was a real bloodbath, which I won easily because the AI only bought one Panther for AFV support. Once he was out of the way, the two platoons of T-34 M43's that I bought went to town.
One of them, deftly commanded by Ser. Kachalov, sent a whopping 94 Landser to meet their maker! This is easily the most havoc inflicted by a single unit that I've ever seen. What's scary is that one of the other T-34's in his platoon took out 42. Totall losses for the battle were on the order of 500+. Like I said, it was a bloodbath!
I have a screenshot which I would post, but have no idea how to do so without the image already being online somewhere. Needless to say, Comrade Kachalov was sent to bed with an extra ration of vodka.

A lot of old timers coming back
in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy

That was awesome! I remember seeing the first human wave attack in CM:BB and being floored.
