  1. A new, combined-arms MBX is just now getting under way (after more than a year in the making!) and we're looking for a few good players. Actually, we're looking for quite a lot of players -- this is designed to be a big game. This game will feature joint forces at the global, operational and tactical levels. TacOps will be used for most tactical land engagements while Harpoon and other games will be used to feature naval, air, and division-level engagements. To find out all about it, go to: http://www.battlefront.com/resources/tacops/MBX/Globalthunder/index.html Hope to see some of you on the field of honor. And sea of honor... and airspace of honor... and... :-> Riki
  2. Here is the short explanation: As the Political Umpire, you would be responsible for collecting the "intentions" and actions of player-countries (1 action per week, per country). You would then perform the inter-actions and resolve what events transpire for that week by rolling dice and using your common sense... and perhaps a bit of "creative license." For a more involved explanation, please contact me directly. Riki
  3. We are looking for a Political Affairs Umpire to help out in the early stages of our upcoming MBX who can preside over the political interactions that will take place prior to war being declared. This is a unique job that should be a lot of fun for the right person. If you have an interest in international intrigue as well as perhaps a little creative flare and would like to preside over the entire world <g> please give me a holler and I'll give you more details on what the job entails. Thanks, Riki
  4. Well, it's taken me about a year but Scott Gainer and I finally have most of the pieces in place to launch the much-rumored MBX this month. So it looks like the name MBX2000 will hold, just barely. <g> Like the Battle of Brunei MBX from a couple of years ago, this game will feature combined arms warfare at the theater level on down, and should be able to handle on A LOT of players. It can also accommodate players from different wargaming backgrounds, not just TacOps. There should be a fair number of people from the Harpoon list joining this project, for example, as naval operations will play a key role as well as ground combat. We hope to be testing the game structure out next weekend so hopefully in a week or so I'll be able to make a more firm announcement about when this game will be getting off the ground. My guess is that we will be forming up teams over the holiday period and kick things off sometime in early January. Just thought I'd mention this now so you can mark your calendars. Riki
