  1. Has anyone read the Sven Hassel series? Interesting reading. He also portrays tanks grinding infantry as a common Russian tactic; however, if I remember correctly, it was usually during an overrun type assault by tank units. It could also be very expensive for the tanks if the men (not squads) involved were veterans, as some generally were. Also, these books, except maybe the first, are fiction based on fact, I think. Anyway, my suggestion would be that an overrun by a vehichle have SOME penalty for the overrun unit. Also, wouldn't that be a good time for a unit to switch targets and utilize grenades, etc.?
  2. I have a AMD 350, 64 meg RAM, ATI Rage Pro Turbo w/ 8 MB, ESS Solo-1 Sound, have update to dx 7 and updated all the other drivers. I have to view the game with graphics hardware acceleration set to basic accelerator functions. This creates choppy, slow scrolling. I also have no sound during playback. Any advise?
  3. Tried turning off sound and Fastfind. Neither helped. The only way it will run is with the hardware accel setting at none or one notch above none, with the resultant clunky, slow behavior described above. Still have no sound. Any suggestions?
  4. I got it to run (finally!) by turning off the hardware accel (click desktop, properties, settings, advanced, performance). It makes scrolling clunky, imprecise, and a pain. Playback is fine. Same problems as above, big jumps with arrow buttons, generally more than you wanted. Also, I have no sound except at the end of the playback. I am running Norton AntiVirus, but I disable it prior to running CM, but did not during the download or extraction. K6-350, 64 MB Ram, ATI Rage Pro Turbo 8 MB, ESS Solo-1 Sound, dx7 and latest drivers.
  5. I, too, have had trouble getting the game to run. In fact, I have yet to have it run more than 30 sec. I have updated every driver I could find (sound, video, dx, mouse, and others). Now the game locks up but the cursor will still move, so I guess I am making progress. I am still looking for any suggestions, cause I am out of ideas.
  6. Good suggestion. I stopped the Norton programs that were running, upgraded to dx7, and it locked up as soon as the battlefield appeared. Any suggestions?
  7. I have yet to go more that 30 seconds before the game freezes (8 tries, both scenarios). Very frusrating! K6 350, 64 meg, ATI Rage Pro Turbo w/ 8 mb.
  8. I have booted the demo twice. The first time it froze after about 2 to 3 seconds. Had to reboot. The second time I was able to scroll about 10 seconds before it froze. Thats all I've had time to do. My system is an AMD 366, 64mb ram, ATI Rage Pro w/8 mb, probably DirectX 6.1.
