Simple question for you people. Will the german units have their real names or are those translated (or can we choose)?
Example:
Kingtiger = Konigstiger
Wosp = Wespe
and so on.

When i look over all the screenhots (which are great btw) i can't help noticing the mg-teams sitting in strange positions (i think it are strange positions, mind you). I haven't read as many books as some of you guys do here...but in order to aim, fire and make sure ya aren't spotted (for a while), isn't the correct position to lay down on yer belly instead sitting on yer butt? I mean, if you're close to the ground and weapon, ya aren't easily spotted, can aim better and just look cool
As i said, haven't read many books on "How to deal with a MG", but the positions they're know are according to my knowledge NOT smart/cool. Maybe this is asked before, in that case i'm sorry. If not, please inform me.

I'm from the Netherlands myself and one of the things i liked in CC2 was that i could actually recognise certain layouts of roads/houses in real-life. I understand, after reading the house-topic, that it's hard to create this in CM but i'm looking forward to Marketgarden Missions in CM myself (if i play the Axis side that is
)Which brings me to two questions i have, which might not be answered here since it's a different topic...but i'll give it a shot.
1) Are the missions hisorically accurate or hypothetical? Meaning: when i play Allies in Marketgarden can i win..or do i lose, as it historically should, BUT with less casualties?
2)Are the SturmTiger and JagdTiger present in CM? i believe that there were only 19 ST and 48 JT deployed in the entire war..but these tanks kick ass. I would like to assault a building with my ST..that's why
To get back to the real question..Market Garden sounds nice. Also the Battle of Britain should be cool...wait a sec...no Tigers were involved there...oke..scrap it

The game didn't kept me awake...the controls did (although the game is darn slow..even my old 486 with 4 mb did a MUCH better job).

Illustation? I'm from the Netherlands so not familiar with every english word. But don't ya mean illustration? If so i suggest ya take more time learning how to write english then spamming this board

When there are people stationed in a building the roof and partially the walls will pop off. There are some screenshots which show this. Don't know about the multistory house though.
Ooh and nice screenshots BT (20-08-1999). Especially the handheld weapons are beautifully replicated

Anywho, i really appreciate the time and effort of ya guys, and i'm sure i won't get bored during my 3-weeks vacation (if only BT had released CM during these weeks...sigh)
And Marko, i believe i have Secrets of War lying around somewhere. If i find them i can copy them for ya (but i'm NOT sure, so don't kill me if i don't.....or do kill me in a CM-scenario....but then BT should release it
)BT....i told Marko to kill me in CM when i don't have some videos...so i'm terribly sorry but ya might need to release CM in a week (gives me 2 weeks of vacation left)

" i've seen it and yes it's good. You're true about Stalingrad (the apology-thing), but somehow, i think, the german movies are better then the american. I think that, like "a bridge to far", the american movies are a bit "war is fun, let's die together"-types whereas the german ones are more like "it's no fun, we're screwed !!". Ofcourse this is used lots of times as an apology (like "we germans had it rough too"), but since i don't seek for apologies in a movie, it all just seems more "realistic".I'll stop here before this board becomes
MOVIEREVIEW.COM but somehow i've never seen a ww2-movie which really impressed me.

Since there are some real technuts here at the board i was wondering if somebody knows this.
1) Was the LAH (Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler)a "sub-group" in the Waffen-SS or was it an entirely different group?
2) Are there any good diaries from german/american soldiers. Since most aren't found in regular bookshops or are even maybe forbidden (please include isbn-nr)
3) Any good WW2-movies (no propaganda ones like "A bridge to far" or "The longest day", but ones like "Stalingrad" and, dare i say it, "Saving private Ryan")
4) When i order the drawings (the ones here at BFront) do i receive a mail about the availibility BEFORE s&h. Or do i have to wait until i receive them and then hope they are all there ? (since i want to order 3 and although they all look great i only want those 3)
And to stop this Spanish Inquisition....
5) When playing C.M. will it be possible to use the 88Flak as both AA and AT ?

Some questions for BT or anyone who knows. When i pre-order and the game becomes availible....will i get it as soon as it rolls of the press or do i have to w8 until my friends in the USA are playing it already for about a month and then us peeps in Europe (this happened before, that's why i ask). Also can buildings be damaged? And if so..will this be visual (don't mean smoke/fire but collapsed walls and stuff)

Sorry to correct you there BT, but PG3 is true 3d. All the terrain and units are made out of poly's. You can rotate and zoom. CM beats PG3 when it comes to detail though (which reminds me i still have to preorder the game

Thx guys for replying. I understand that it's no fun in CM to have a Beachassault. I just got a bit carried away because of the mails.
One lousy beachassault doesn't create a great game. And since CM looks great, sounds absolutely top and could be the game wargamers have been waiting for, i'm not going to let my descision, wether to buy the game or not, depend on this beachassault. No sir, i'm just going to wait for the new pics and, when i like what i see, preorder the game. (i actually don't have to wait for the pics since i'm planning to buy the game already, but it just makes this post more dramatic
