  1. I've been away for a while and recently put CMBO back on my HD along with a bunch of mods. I went to Battlefront.com to get the patch and I hear talk of a "special edition" CMBO. What is it? Also, I know that CMBB and CMAK generally do things better than CMBO and add more game features. Are they ever going to rework (or patch) CMBO to be like CMBB / CMAK? Thanks, Matt
  2. Biltong, Supersulo said he could host or at least mirror it in this thread. -Matt P.S. - I have the beta, please send the final. [ November 16, 2002, 10:17 AM: Message edited by: Matt ]
  3. So you think in BoB they are eluding to 88-itis much the same as GIs coming under fire by German tanks and calling anything they see Tigers but when Winters gets back to report what they actually took out he gets it right? If 88s were used in the indirect fire mode in real life, can we use them this way in CMBO/CMBB? -Matt
  4. In real life were 88s ever used in an indirect fire mode? I'm asking because I recently purchased the 6 DVD volume of Band of Brothers and in episode two Winters is chosen to lead an attack on a fortified German artillery position - 4 x 88s. Then I throw in Saving Pvt Ryan and see that after they land Tom Hanks' platoon is given the very difficult task of taking out some 88's firing on the beaches in what appears to be indirect fire. Now I know these movies are for entertainment value and if left up to hollywood to get something militarily correct they'd be wrong 99% of the time but it seems there are lots of references to 88s and indirect fire. What gives? -Matt
  5. No way Gary, there is a huge difference. Look where the barrel meets the sky and on the lower picture how crisp and clear the edges of the tank are. Beautiful!!! -Matt
  6. My head is still spinning at that fast response. Many thanks Stryker. -Matt
  7. I would *love* something like this. Please post where I could get this when it's ready and could you also tell me where the CMBO rule sheet can be found? TIA -Matt
  8. I like these new versions better MrNoobie. They look great!!! -Matt
  9. Welcome back, I loved your work. Any hints as to what you'll be modding first? -Matt
  10. I'm interested but am confused at the same time. Why do you reference 1960 to 1980? Is that when they were released or something? -Matt
  11. Ok, you got me hook, line & sinker. I bit hard on that one. -Matt
  12. I say keep it simple with zips and forget the rar and ace stuff. (just my personal opinon) -Matt
  13. Oh yah, I forgot to say: Good job and thanks for all the hard work. All the mod sluts here deserve our thanks. Matt
  14. Mr Noobie, I have a request. Can you break out the KV-1 and the T-34s into individual zips so that I can pick and choose which tanks I want. Some might look at this as stupid but I for one don't want every T34 to look dirty. It would be nice to say, "I love Mr. Noobie's T34 M 41" and be able to just install that one veriant. TIA Matt
  15. Madmatt, I just wanted to say thanks for looking into this. I too have seen my HQ popping up before squads when faced with and enemy at approximately the same range. I have been playing with the covered arcs more and more because of it but don't always use them because Ruskies always seem to appear just outside the arc and my troops just stare instead of fire which is a totally seperate issue. I just prefer to not use the covered arcs sometimes. -Matt
  16. In the Armored Roadblock scenario I took out the KV-II with a German 50mm AT gun from 400 or so but I had a height advantage and probably scored a hit on the top. I had 5 or 6 50mm AT guns firing at this thing as fast as they could put rounds into the chambers. After 3 minutes of ricochets I finally penetrated from the top and the crew bailed. It was funny watching the KV-II shrug off the hits that were coming one about every 3 seconds. I think the patch might address this issue though, I read something about crews not bailing so quickly if the guns firing at them are of small caliber and are mearly bouncing off the thick armor. I might have to replay that scenario after the patch comes out. -Matt
  17. Well, this game isn't for everybody and I'm glad. If BFC tried to make it for everybody I can guarantee huge suckage. Now, back to calling in sick and playing for hours and hours. -Matt
  18. Ok, I figured it out. There was a very hidden machine gun firing from super far out, when I watched the replayes initially I missed it because I didn't hear it. I see the tracers now though. My bad. -Matt
  19. I've been watching very closely and don't think they ran into mines because I'm moving a lot of infantry through the same zones so I'd suspect mines would at least panic/supress if not kill more troops. I'll go double check but am 99% sure that in Armored Roadblock the Germans start at 100% strength. I only noticed that I was taking casualties when my battlefield moral dropped to 98%. Hmmm... -Matt
  20. Possible Armored Roadblock spoiler below... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I'm currently playing the Armored Roadblock operation and my infantry is having to move large distances to get where they want to go. There has been absolutely no combat up to this point in the game but two of my tank hunting teams, one pioneer squad and one 50mm AT gun have taken casualties. Each of the above mentioned units has suffered a single man casualty. Has anybody else seen this type of single man losses due to movement? Thanks, Matt
  21. Is that a "hit" that penetrated from a small caliber AT gun below the vision slit on the right side of the turret? (if that is even a vision slit) -Matt
  22. Can somebody explain to me what these Peng threads are? I read them but they seem to be a bunch of nonsensical blabbering. With this said, my intention of describing them this way is not to offend anybody, I just don't get it. What are they? -Matt
  23. I like "A deadly Affair". I played as the Germans vs. AI I had so much fun in that one...get this, I finished it late then went to bed. I actually dreamed about it that night. Sad but true. -Matt
  24. I totally agree, leave it a zero so it doesn't get scored. I just received my copy yesterday and am looking forward to taking a stroll over to the Scenario Depot. I actually just got done playing "A Deadly Affair" which was included with the game. Dang that was fun! Now I'm off to mod land ... -Matt
  25. A fag file...to funny. Sorry, I couldn't resist. -Matt
