  1. Heyguys, I've had to be away from CM for awhile now and I've lost my bearings on how to play, I'm afraid. Would anybody like to play a PBEM with me to help me practice? My email is dowzup@dmv.com. Good to be back. Joe
  2. I have boundless respect for BTS and the fine friends that I have made on this forum, and in that spirit and in recognition of the hill we have all climbed to play this great game... I plant the flag here now! Scoundrels, be advised... you are outnumbered and unappreciated. Board faithful, take heart... we enjoy a forum that is well more than 90% topical and fraternal. NO one, and I mean this emphatically... NO ONE will remove our flag and send me back down that hill with my tail between my legs. So to those of you who cause us to gnash our teeth, post your sick and twisted, horribly-mispelled garbage and be assured that no mouse click of mine will carry me to read it. Brothers in CM, we win by defending our hill. I will not desert it. Carentan
  3. You SHOULD feel great about yourself. A) Generosity brings strong mutual rewards, and your kharma needle is pinned. You gave the greatest gift of all. Good man!
  4. Hey Guachi, Keep up the good work, my man. This stuff is great!
  5. Anyone up for a little friendly battle? dowzup@dmv.com ------------------ Joe ------ Killin' is my business. And, business is good!
  6. It sounds strikingly similar to the oft-used PanzerAbRoller, which was the precursor to today's "8-Minute Abs." Fairly sturdy for a battleground workout, it helped alleviate the effects of chasing wine and cheese throughout France. In fact, it's widely reported that Jochen Pieper mounted his PAR directly behind his equally effective Nahversmokefiringthingy to create the most deadly combat tank in the ETO. 7. I backed up my copy of my CM disc with my burner... works fine.
  8. I have a free day today if anyone wants to play a DYO game. My email address is dowzup@dmv.com. Joe
  9. LOL, it's a scuffed-up cassette with the holes covered by scotch tape. Oh wait, that must be a Talonsoft game
  10. papa, the file wouldn't load because it was zipped. let's stick w/ unzipped so that i have less to futz with. ok? joe
  11. Sure didn't, SS. Would you try sending again? Joe
  12. I've been disappointed in the things that are available both on the magazine shelf AND in cyberspace regarding my hobby of wargaming. It seems to me that the hobby, and not just CM, needs offerings from folks who are completely bitten by the bug, too. I don't get that sense of comeraderie at all from the websites we're forced to visit to read about what's new in wargaming. As far as scope, I'm purely a computer wargamer, but I'd love a site/newsletter zervice to tell me about other aspects of the hobby that I'm not familiar with... anything from boardgames to miniatures. I enjoy AAR's, articles on scenarios/design, and historical perspectives on battles and campaigns. And, while I mostly tackle WWII stuff, the Civil War, WWI, Korea and Vietnam are all areas that I'd love to know better. I think of the wargaming community as a smallish, spirited club of bright folks that enjoy intelligent release. It's about time someone catered to us!
  13. Hi there, CM'ers.... if any of the rest of you are taking off a bit early to start the big Independence day weekend, let's play a game. Email me your thoughts or a setup at dowzup@dmv.com. Thanks, Joe
  14. I've saved many games without incident. Saved games show up on the Play Game screen just under the Quick Battle line. Hope you get it sorted out. Joe
  15. Any takers? Joe dowzup@dmv.com
  16. I'm up, I'm ready... I'll play either side. Generate a Quick Battle and send me details and file. My email address is dowzup@dmv.com. Please keep it small/medium, as my talent ain't that solid yet. Joe
  17. I'm yelling. I'm cheering. I'm cursing at "stinkin' Krauts." And, my dogs can't figure out what to do about all of this. The dalmatian has her winter camo on already, but the Maltese is gonna need work. Oops, their legs are crossed. After... just... one... more... turn... I'll take you guys out.
  18. When I play my brand-spankin' new CM, I'm reminded of that line (see subject) from my favorite movie, Field of Dreams. Point 1: No finer game has ever faced the dedicated wargaming hobbyist. Point 2: Steve and Charles... you have much to be proud of. Point 3: Fellas... we have much to be thankful for. Humbled by the magnitude of all three points, Joe
