That is good news Angryson. Wodin, here is that key I promised you:

They will work for MAC's also. Send your friend this link (thanks Mark "Tank Boy" Gibson) as it explains how to apply them to a MAC install: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showpost.php?p=1270352&postcount=18

Thanks Reaver. In this image I have laid out the US rank icons as released with the game, and my set. The red X marks ranks that did not exist in the US Army in WW2. So some shifting was necessary as fewer actual enlisted ranks were available. I tried to keep them in line with the German ranks as much as possible. And a Corporal is perfectly able to command a squad, even in today's army.

AstroCat, a Corporal commanding a squad is perfectly feasable, not sure why you have a problem with that. Remake it any way you like, but adding missing ranks might be adding back in a rank that didn't exist in WW2.. for example in the game the PFC rank (one stripe on top and one rocker on the bottom) did not exist until the 50's. All you should have to do is copy the Sergeant rank at position 6 into position 5 as well (overwriting Corporal at that point). Bil

He better come back safe. Wodin, I am going to work up a key for them but really after playing a game or two I think you'll have them down.

Glad you are enjoying them. I thought the US Army symbols worked better than the German ones did, at least when trying to represent individual vehicles and squads.

CMBN Gridded terrain mod...
Bil Hardenberger replied to Bil Hardenberger's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
This mod is finally available on the Repository. -
Wodin, try my period set (on the repository, based on WW2 US Army map symbols. I had made a NATO set in my early BETA days with this game and got a bit of a backlash, so I created this set, which really, I prefer.

CMBN Gridded terrain mod...

Gromit, that was the plan originally, unfortunately I have found it pretty much impossible to layout the grid from map to map so the squares will exactly correspond to the action spots as the origin can change from map to map. It is as close as I could get it.. and mind you this was done several months ago and was rushed together. Someday I will have the time to sit down and do up a proper gridded terrain mod.. of course by then there will be several alternatives available. -
