Capitalistdoginchina are you using internet connection sharing under win/98 if so i too had the same problem.. something in the software of ics will not let me host a game when i am on the internet. i can connect to someone else but i am unable to host a game.. madmatt and rune tried to get it to work with me but alas no go.. we tried many thing to get it to work. nada!! i will check back here from time to time to see if you had any luck.. i got it too. it is a self replicating virus. that sends itself to all in your address book. and attaches a file from "my documents" folder.. i had a devil of a time removing registry entries.. and the only way i got it was from a CM player.. since it came to my CM e-mail address and had a mod pack as the attachment. my mistake was i chose not to update my McAfee virus scan last week..

try this.. if you capture an enemy unit make sure you give him order to move to your side of the board and you won't get a lock up.. swamp and i had a game going where both of us had a captured unit. first unit to get captured caused a lock up.. luckly he had saved the game.. after the restart i gave the unit order to mov off the map.. second time a unit was captured he gave the unit order to move off the map.. and we didn't get a lock up... so the key is make the captured unit move.. to your side of the map via the move order. hope this helps

Capt Canuck here is the link to nividia driver page web page the newest driver is 12.41 also make sure you have directX version 8.0a you can get that from microsoft or any shareware site.. hope this helps

if you are using your browser to get e-mail that would give you a problem.. i have used hotmail via Outlook Express. just go to tools/accounts and add your hotmail account that way you eleminate the browser and attachments will be able to be saved to your hard drive in a normal way..some place in hotmail is the info you will need for outlook express hope this helps

Bart i have a lan and have no problems joining games on the lan.. one computer will set up the game and should be given the ip of that computer..if you are on a lan you should get 2 ip address if you are connected to the internet.. one for the internet and one for your lan.. make sure you use the one for the lan.. the other computer will imput the ip address of the host computer. also have you changed the ip address of each computer on the lan.. if your home lan has all the same ip for each computer that will cause a problem. to see if each computer has the same ip: go to start/settings/control panel then click on network.. highlite the tcp/ip protocol for the lan card then click on properties in that window you will find the ip for that lan card. if all are the same chang the last number (ex. xxx.xxx.xxx.001) i have 3 computers on my lan so i have xxx.xxx.xxx.001, xxx.xxx.xxx.002, and xxx.xxx.xxx.003. the default usually is 192.168.0.1 after you have different ip numbers for the lan cards CM will give you those numbers at the end of the start sequence. hope this helps Arien

hang in there KING like it was said earlier, play small battles first. once you get the hang of what happens and how to use your units. you will be hooked. i too was a advanced squad leader player and kept searching the computer games that came out for one like CM. i thank the BTS crew everytime i start a game.. if you ask most of the people that play you will see that they too lost many games before getting more on the win side than the loss.. FYI for future problems if you need to change what program is your default for e-mail. click on start/settings/control panel then click on internet options icon then the program tab.. that is the location that will setup what program is your default for the internet under window xx.. hope this helps.. arien [This message has been edited by Arien (edited 03-18-2001).]

i don't think whether a unit is hiding does anything to the recovery rate of said unit. i would think that is dependent on the type of unit and what it is carrying. eg. a panzerschreck will tire and get weary very quickly due to the load that its lugging around. and my experience will take some time to return to rested state. if you keep him moving it will take longer.. no i didn't write my own program.. but my understanding is that "one click" is a program written by someone else to manage your pbem files for your games..

i do the same thing Windopaene: create a directory for each person i play. and OS keeps every file in alphabetical order. so getting the correct file is a snap it is the last file in that directory. and when i send a file it too is the last file with the person i am playing in the PBEM directory.. so i don't need one click to attach a file to my e-mail. and besides i don't have to load another program to play or send files.. that keep the OS from expending system resources so i don't have any problem playing the game..
