  1. So this is what you were talking about when you said all will be made clearer! It all looks great, now I just need to spend the hours it will take to get all of those new movies! I got all excited just reading the descriptions of them. Congratulations on all the progress you have and continue to make. Best wishes as you continue this mammoth project. Heh heh... now where is that credit card... OOps... just noticed that there is a thread of this type already. Sorry! I just glanced down the list, didn't see any little red folders, and hit the new topic button. Guess that problem is rather wide spread. 2. I know that the system was established to counter the rule of the masses, but the statement that I made about it being set forth in the constitution was correct, wasn't it? That's what I was getting at, that the funky system is more than just some policy, it is part of the foundation of the country (whether we still need that bit or not)
  3. Moon: We here in the USA don't get to elect our president directly, either. (I'm not sure if this goes for more than the presidential race, but it might.) We elect an "electoral college" for each state (I think it is state), and their votes are the ones that are actually counted. And guess who chooses the electoral college? That's right, the party. This means that ALL of the electorial votes from a particular state go to a particular cantidate, they do not reflect the divided oppinion of the people in the state. The number of people in the electoral college for each state is, of course, determined by that state's population, so states like California carry more weight than those like Rhode Island, Montana, and Alaska. These procedures are in our Constitution. This means that if, in the ACTUAL vote by the people, a presidential cantidate could win small states, with their small electoral colleges, by large margins, but lose large states by small margins, losing the large electoral colleges. This can cause a presidential cantidate to win the popular vote (actual numbers from actual poeple) yet LOSE the election! I have heard that this happened in the '92 election between Bush and Clinton, Bush having actually won the popular vote, but lost the election. So... I think that's all right. Anyone have any corrections? [This message has been edited by Andy Wilson (edited 04-16-99).]
  4. Well... I don't know about colored little smiley, but you can get a better toung than a capitol "P". Hold down alt and hit 0222, let go, and what does that spell? Þ! Mix that with your eyes and you get the very slick :Þ and with a nose :-Þ Sweet, no?
  5. No kidding! Want grass roots marketing? No problem! Dayly updates evaluating the game, discussion about what is in the game and comparison to other games? You've got it! I think that many here would agree with my sentament (sp?). Let US take care of all the peripheral stuff! Maybe CM can get out a bit earlier, eh? Come on... let us help you out! (We wish, eh, people?)
  6. AK! Per hour basis?!?!? That's awful! When I was looking for an ISP, I didn't even consider an cantidate unless it offered unlimited hours! I guess I'm lucky! I get those unlimited hours for twenty five US dollars per month. I connect at no less than 52000 bps every single time, as well. Sheesh! I feel sorry for such unfortunate souls. Andy
  7. I'm hoping that your objections to such a large chunk of movie are due to restrictions on your end of things. I know that I, for one, will download anything that you guys put up. This clunky machine with its 56k connection may have to stay on line all night to get such a massive file, but it would gladly be done. I'd wager that plenty of my fellow war gamers would share my oppinion. In short: Feed Me! I want More Combat Mission!!! Thanks. Andy [This message has been edited by Andy Wilson (edited 03-14-99).]
