  1. Looking for some nice open large maps. There are not that many in the Vanilla CMRT nor the repository. Is there other sites that hold maps that can be downloaded? Thanks
  2. OK I need a refresher course on Elevation map settings. Is there just a way to say "paint" an area and plug in a height value? Or can I click an area and have it rise in that general vicinity. It seems no matter what I do I end up changing the elevation almost over the whole map?
  3. I would agree. I think Jason is talking about EU III? EU IV is still one of the periods best grand strategic games of the time. I am not aware of any product that even comes close. I must say that even to explore the game one learns so much of the time period. You can go against history in paradox games but you have to fight it and there are penalties when one does. (i.e. England being the preeminent land armies of Europe) That being said it is an AI in EUIV it is 100's on nations/city states. Lets face it even CM's Ai is limited. I think Paradox & Battlefront are the leaders in Grand Strategic and tactical wargames even with their shortcomings. Although the last few years there is actually some competition in this genre I don't think they will be losing to much market share in the near future IMHO. Either way (competition) it is a win for all of us. We all love history, it is just different mediums that we use to consume it
  4. Vicky 2 was very nice.....for even more detailed (ya can you believe it) AGEOD's PON is in the same class but turned based. Some don't like Variable real time. To me in an MP group setting it is far easier to complete turns/time. Both are fun though to play. PON is more though of a marathon. PBEM is a little slow when multiple players are concerned.
  5. Ditto all excellent. ACW 2 is another great grand strategic Civil War game. WEGO design was well done.
  6. Some of our group did. If you were a huge WIF in the day I think u would like it. Remember it is a board wargame conversion. Simply that. Think of vassal or cyerboard. It is not at the divisional level like HOI. Interface I found was very limited. It was true to its name sake. I would image it is a lot cheaper also. Even with all the add on's.
  7. The detail in WitpAE is well a monster operational wargame. HOI franchsie is detailed but not so to the same respect. You can finish the war in say 4-12 hours. WiptAE well it takes years to complete the game. My game is in its 2nd year! For grand strategic I would go with HOI IMHO. Like Witp MP games are where it is at. Either are easy to win if playing solely against he AI.
  8. Gentleman you're saviours on the battlefield
  9. Ok silly on me how does one place exit zones in the Scenario Editor? Duh??
  10. IMHO it adds at least 50% to the replay value. Nothing like it. There are a # of good MP groups that meet often. They are very friendly and would help u with any issues. They are interested in keeping you in the group rather than bashing a new player like some of the RTS kiddie games
  11. Just working on a historical scenario.....is there anyway to get a head count of a unit. Have references noting that say a company had 125 men left etc. How would one determine the actual 100% value re. men of said company using the scenario editor? Then of course reduce the company by an amount of say 30% or what not. Any mod that allows the reduction of units or OOB greater than the set max of 50%?
  12. HOI 3 is the best grand strategic wargame on the market. Especially so if playing MP with say 4-8 players (COOP also if you like). It is Variable RT so the speed can be almost any speed. Anyone can pause the game at anytime. With all the expansions it is more realistic I find than any board game I have played in the past 30 years. What the program can do would take humans 100's of hours of paperwork and milk crates of rule sets. Defiantly worth every penny. This is no RTS twitch game....and is light years ahead of WIF or the Third Reich. Starting in 36 of course can change historical outcomes and can have unhistorical effects. Most groups play the 38 or 39 scenarios for a more realistic flavour. There are countless mods for the program also Playing against the AI is......... well the same as CM. Ok for beginners and MAYBE intermediate players but limited at the best of times.
  13. Sweet! Which one Broadsword would you recommend to start with? Oh and how much of board wargame is covered by the respective master maps?
  14. Love the work Fizou! Is there a site or google drive with your ruleset maps? Etc. Are you running another session? Thanks Sir.
  15. Thanks Noob and all you have done in the past and hopefully the future for the community.
  16. Not possible though to use CMx2 or so I have been told. I do love their maps.
  17. Noob has the operation ended? How are you guys going the maps? Using a master map of the area?
  18. Wow nice record! Will look into it further. Broadsword is going to set me up I think. cheers ps include me in any operational games with CMx2
  19. Curious is this the location one would find the file? Loaded up panzer command but didn't get the same map? any ideas guys? http://www.limeyyankgames.co.uk/lyg/cyberboard?items_per_page=All&=Apply
  20. Looks amazing!!! Thanks for all your hard work. Wondering is there other Master maps that would work well with CMRT/Cyberboard or Vassal for any of the CMx2 franchise.
  21. Digging into this further but is there any break in the game flow I wonder to conduct CMRT scenarios using Command Ops?
  22. Very interesting......didn't realize there was a break in the flow of the RT operational aspect to the game. Will check this one out. I own them all
