  1. well, others may argue, but CM1 and I presume CM2 is basically about armored combat. Europe, 1939-45, is the most interesting armored combat arena. The only other interesting theater for armored combat would be middle east 1967 and 1973,(which I would personally love!) but I doubt CM2 will be set in the modern era. If you go to other wars, like Korea or Vietnam, they were principally infantry affairs. An infantry focused game would make sense if CM2 was designed on a smaller scale than CM1 (i.e. platoon/section sized), but Battlefront as already stated that CM2 will be the same "size" as CM1 (i.e. company sized). So based on all that, WW2 is the most likely suspect. The only interesting WW2 Tank theaters are NWE 1944-45, USSR 1941-45 and NA 1940-43. Battlefront have already stated that the first CM2 game will not be Eastern Front or North Africa, so that only leaves NWE 1944-45 ( unless you lend credence to the Space Lobsters rumours! ).
  2. Although it has not been confirmed, the most likely subject matter would be Northwest Europe 1944-45.
  3. It's called "The Library" (2 player version) from the Stalingrad Pack which Akula 2 and I are playing blind PBEM. It's a small, fun and bloody scenario, perfect for the revenge match we are having. I also recently finished the "Der Manstein Kommt" operation PBEM. It's a great operation, but a tough uphill battle for the Germans. [ March 31, 2005, 07:49 AM: Message edited by: JC_Hare ]
  4. Thanks Kingfish, you are a valuable source of information once again.
  5. Emar, slightly, well actually totally off topic, I have your op and how did you make such a huge map? I have been working on a few scenarios, but the map editor restricts me to a maximum map size of about 4 km by 4,6 km.
  6. Hoolaman, very nice map and it can be magnified without losing any detail. If you see anymore, please post the link, it's almost impossible to find decent maps of north africa. I am currently working on a couple of north africa scenarios and the lack of detailed maps is the biggest problem.
  7. I also concur. Trying to move a lot of vehicles down a winding road is very time consuming and an exercise in frustation...although in our current PBEM game, Big Al only has one tank left and a straight road ahead of him, so I don't think it's a big issue there
  8. Since you are being such a gentleman, I will stay in. Ignore my previous post, I am having a bad day at the office.
  9. Apology accepted. I did not realize that to participate in ROW V, I had to read everyone of the 11+ pages of this post. Since I was one of the first players to show interest, I presumed I would be afforded the courtesy of an email. I have no interest in being a reserve player. Good luck on your tournament.
  10. Kingfish, I have not been contacted yet, even though my name is on this list of players which are signed up.
  11. I have a British Army issue 1:100000 map of the El Alamein area as was used during the actual British attack. It was issued to my Grandfather a Staff sergeant in the RAMC attached to 51st Highland Div. I also have abetter condition 1:100000 map of the same area. I don't have a scanner that is large enough but could take some jpeg photos and email them to you. The British Army map is not in A1 condition, and may not turn out all that well. Let me know, you can email me via gmcewan@totalise.co.uk Cheers fur noo George Mc e-mail already sent. El Alamein is an area I want to tackle, especially the early July battles and Alam Halfa ridge. </font>
  12. Thanks Kingfish, lots of interesting stuff on that site.

  14. Thanks, I had found that map. I am looking for topographical maps, ideally 1: 100,000 scale so I can make an accurate map of actual battles. right now, I am trying to design a scenario based on the Tank battles on June 15-16, 1941 as part of Operation Battleaxe. I have a decent map and a good description of forces involved in thomas Jentz, "Tank Combat in North Africa", but I would be happier with a more detailed map.
  15. I have just started designing scenarios of north african battles in 1941-42. Does anyone know where I can find good maps of northeastern Libya (Tobruk, Gazala, Bardia, Halfaya pass) and of the El Alamein region.
  16. Hi Franko, Glad to see you are back. I would like a copy of your operation as well. My email is stavka1941@yahoo.ca I am currently playing Der Manstein Kommt PBEM, it's a great operation.
  17. FYI, there offering it online too, it's the CDV version. Camelot is a serious operation, good prices and service, I'm sure they are not aware of the restriction. [ADMIN: URL removed] [ January 02, 2005, 01:22 AM: Message edited by: Moon ]

  22. Hi Richie, can you send me a copy of your ops, I would like to take a look at them. My email address is in my profile. I see one of your Ops deals with the 82nd's attack at Cheneux described in my previous post.
