  1. FOR THE LOVE OF RATIONAL THOUGHT/GOD!!!! Could you warn us before posting a picture of Morena Baccarin? Now I have to go and have a lie down. *swoons*
  2. Yes please! Do you take request? Something completely ridiculous like: "Sorry guys, FUBAR again, we won't be releasing the game or any info about it for the 5th year running."
  3. If you come here and profess not to know what you could've done better in communicating in regards to this product, you shouldn't be surprised by a snarky reply. FFS Moon, had I never bothered to check in here after the forum opened I would've been better informed about what's going on! Minus one sale.
  4. Bribing Steve (Battlefront.com) with some exotic uniform is a sure-fire way of getting on the beta team. No social or testing skills required, just mail that Sri Lankan Marines uniform to an address provided by him and you are set.
  5. I don't think many have a problem with a believer in the White House. But when a Believer is on a mission from god that's when they are scary, because that means they closed the door on rational argument. Whatever the other side has to say, the believer pushes their agenda because God wills it. Drown out the cries of the dying:"Deus vult! Deus vult!"
  6. Moon, you convinced me. Comms are flawless, job well done. Or as George W Bush would've said: You are doing a heck of a job Balkomie.
  7. The US are increasingly regarded as the Iran of christianity and you think this is a good thing? I guess you are one of the people that will be Saved.
  8. You should ban Dan Verssen from saying "soon", then. I'd suggest you search the forum. While the new search function is pretty much FUBAR, the dearth of information on this sub-forum should mean you should find it easy enough. You can't possibly look at the information put out about MNB:WW2 in the last couple of years and be happy about how the comms between customer and company went.
  9. I'm sorry, but i'm by now quite offended by the manner in which BFC and Dan Verssen have handled this whole thing. Somehow, saying "Soon" for four years doesn't quite cut it with me. If you can't or won't give an update on what's happening, just say so, don't string us along with apparent bull.
  10. A policy on swallowing up the universe is only going to have a hefty premium if it's being negotiated in the universe next-door.
  11. Hehe, another browser to fuxxor with your website. That's your future employment secured. My mouse doesn't scroll the pages. At least, I haven't found a way to make it do that since I only fired it up just now.
  12. That TC isn't to know whether you wanted to use the HMG or just have him poke his head out. Besides, making your TC poke his head out within reach of small arms fire isn't a thing I'd like to go see unpunished.
  13. URL when erroring: http://www.jpmorganinvest.com/jpmi/opencms/l/accessibility/ Page itself sez:
  14. Both the Accessibility and Privacy link at the bottom of the page 404 on me consistently. Also, while not an error per se, you might want to look at the Glossary button. I don't think it's supposed to look like it does in FF3.
  15. Complete editor n00b here, as I only use it to make quick testing grounds for weapons fire and such. But does the editor recognize accents like in résidentiel or Rivière ?
  16. You have to have the disc in the drive? Let me guess, Paradox version? I have the BFC version so I can't answer your question. Probably you are stuck with the need for the CD in the drive, if I was to hazard a guess. Sorry.
  17. Well, I wouldn't know what to think of your example as my Abrams have no trouble spotting enemy vehicles in any difficulty mode. Red tanks hardly ever get the drop on Abrams, moving or stationary. Is what you describe something that happens often in various scenarios or just in that instance? I am not surprised to see the same in small arms fire though, which is notoriously tricky to spot. It'll help if you use the more cautious stances to move. This will get you closer to the enemy before they'll open fire, increasing your chances your troops will see them and return fire. If you run they'll start firing at longer ranger where you'll have difficulty spotting a shooter that's concealed. I pretty much use Hunt for most manoeuvres. It'll mean they typically don't draw fire from everyone across the length of the map and when they do get shot at they stop, and thus increase their chances to spot who is shooting at them. Also, have some units provide overwatch. Your movers might not see who is shooting, the squad nearby that's doing nothing but looking around probably will. And obviously, you may want to orientate such overwatch squads towards positions you expect fire to come from (duh!). Do all this and you'll drastically reduce the likelihood of not spotting shooters. btw Why did you set a target arc? Unless I missed a memo it does not increase the likelihood that you'll spot a target in the 'Target Arc-ed' area. Well, no bonus aside from that it'll make the turret point that way, which obviously helps.
  18. I'll keep trying but I'm completely alienated. Can't even achieve the simplest tasks yet. Switch views, stations, load and fire a shell, etc etc. And that's with the gameplay settings set to Simplistic Moron mode. WTF? I missed out on the great tanks sims of yesteryear, too busy shooting down Bf-109s, so maybe I need to learn what's the traditional key arrangement in tanksims, like how all flightsims share much the same basic key scheme.
  19. Wow, do I have time and motivation to learn the overly awkward and complex Steel Fury controls? I think not.
  20. It's normal, you are misreading what's happening to a degree. Your units did spot something, but if that became a question mark then that means they aren't seeing it anymore. Because that's what a question mark, a contact that was lost. If your troops didn't fire at all it's probably because the contact was too short to respond too. If you think the enemy is still there, use area fire. That simulates firing at unseen targets. That's something the AI can't do. I used to be playing everything in Elite, but the fiddly nature of not seeing your own units just ended pissing me off so I recently started playing in Veteran mode. There will be a change to the levels in V1.10
  21. My Russian is *cough* a little rusty but the translation Dutch news provided dripped of threats of attacking first to take it out. From both Dutch and Beeb coverage it sure didn't came across as a bluntly put "we are reprogramming our nuke destinations to include Poland". Not even close. Indeed the only thing that toned it down was that it was a threat not likely to actually be acted upon. Russians loving their children and all that.
  22. By replacing them with other large contracts and a different set of political appointees, obviously.
  23. Well, the ammo being unevenly divided sure seems a problem. But it doesn't seem to be something that happens frequently. You are, AFAIK, the first. Even so, probably best if it didn't happen at all. The grenades being thrown seem not all odd. Sure, at times it would probably make more real life sense for the guys to open up on the enemy with firearms instead of reaching for a grenade. Within grenade throwing distance the AI gotta have some preference for tossing grenades or they never would get used at all. There's no way for the AI to tell the difference when it would look best to not use grenades. Heck, I think we could have a lengthy discussion right here about what would appropriate on this forum and never reach an agreement, so what would you expect from the poor AI? On the Minimi issue: it's definitely... quirky. A problem? I don't think so. Not really. What has started as a good find with good eye for detail has turned into obsessiveness of the restraining order kind.
  24. To me it sounds like traditional law enforcement (officers that don't default to using assault rifles and heavy body armour) or perhaps even that best defence against terrorism: alert citizenry. Next time though, could you provide more info. Or were we supposed to guess who said this?
  25. There's been further gains in performance. How much gains it'll give you will be hard to tell though. It seemingly differs wildly from rig to rig. Many problems with performance seem to stem from an expectation that CMSF should run with similar settings to an FPS. I recommend more modest settings for most users. Dare to dial your settings down. Most times you'll see a noticeable increase in framerate without much degradation of the graphics. Resolution or AA settings can easily be turned down a notch without hindering visuals. Turning off shadows is one that has a great impact on framerate if you don't mind their absence.
