  4. My pleasure Gary - glad they were of use. re twitter - i can't see any message or any new follow - sure you got the right George MC my twitter handle is @GeorgeMCR01 Aye the stuff guys are doing now with swapping mdrs and what have blows my tiny mind ::
  5. Are you not playing the designer? I mean to create an AI plan as the designer I have to playout the scenario. This then forms the basis of the AI Plan. Then tweaked to take account of players doing 'leftfield' stuff. The only downside is I have to plot all my moves at the start of the game whilst you as the player get to do em each minute. But yeah playing against people (which I do both for fun and competitively in tourney's)adds another dimension but I think playing PBEM has developed my CM skill set, deeper appreciation of tactics and that helps inform creating interesting AI plans - caveat - I'm not expecting good players to be beat by the AI plan but hopefully have an engaging time. So in my world view - plenty room for both types of play
  6. He! Aye but you came out swinging hard and slaughtered my initial Soviet zerg rush! Took me a while to regroup the shattered survivors...
  7. I've a 12ss mod for CMBN (not tried in CMRT) and there is a CMRT mod file name - Ez_SS-for-Red-Thunder - which has some of the uniform options wearing LSSAH cuffs. I've also got Ez's EZ German skin compilation CMBN CMRT - uploaded em all to dropbox at this link. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vwn9wwj92t3778c/AABgh0kEUelX2-k7flt4XLxua?dl=0 Cheery!
  8. Aye the campaigns are only playable as Germans versus Soviets, and is more a question of game engine limitations (SPW cannot be remounted – which borks most of Five Days playing against a German AI; and Ogledow campaign would have issues cos the Soviets would wipe out a German AI core force really easily). In saying that pretty much all the other scenarios are designed to be played against either AI (except the SPW training and Panzergrenadiere in HKL) and were designed with that in mind. So the following will all provided a fun fight as Soviets against the German AI or a challenging fight H2H: CMRT Tigers At Ogledow (the scenario) CMRT Heart Of The Dying Sun (want to command a massive Soviet armoured combined arms assault? Knock yersel out!) CMRT Bridgehead at Rakow (defend against German armoured attack) CMRT Cat and Mouse (sneak up and snipe German tanks) CMRT Deep Raid (command an advanced detachment from the 233rd Tank Brigade part of 5th Mechanized Corps deep into the German rear as part of the JASSY-KISHINEV offensive operation). CMRT Ill Met By Moonlight (sneak up and KO immoblised German tanks) CMRT Polosa Deistviya (Soviet Guards recce unit tasked with seizing bridge, guarded by German straggler unit, by coup de main) CMRT Panzerfgruppe Flügel (stop German panzer gruppe from breaking out) CMRT Tip Of The Spear (Soviet combined arms from 2nd Tank Army conduct counter recce against German recce elements). Hope this helps? Cheery!
  9. First off thanks to all those who have supported the Battlepack by purchasing it, and a shout out to those who have provided their support in the creation of this project – and a huge shout out to those who have freely given their feedback and additional support publicly via various means – online streaming vids, DARs, AARs and various forum posts etc, Its truly heartening to read and see these. It’s just as well, being Scottish, that we are renowned for being slow to anger and not prone to unprovoked outbursts. On a personal note a mahhoosive amount of work went into the battle pack, at my end. Work of which I am truly proud off. The lion’s share of research, mapmaking and AI plan stuff was devoted to the two campaigns and the Rakow and the Dying Sun scenario. These all involved painstakingly creating huge new maps from primary sources. Research turned up several ‘loose’ ends regarding accepted historical narrative and I’m as chuffed with these as the scenarios! I digress… In short this sucked up a huge amount of time and I was also involved in several other projects (which I was keen to be involved in including CMFR and CMCW). Creating new content, AI plans etc for the Battlepack was a significant endeavour. So yup I used bits of various previous maps (which were my own creations and made available publicly) which I then significantly tweaked – mainly because I could not positively ID RL locations, or the fact is I thought the map – like Der Ring (which by the way took nearly a year to produce) to have a new life after some major tweaking. I’ve done this on previous game families with other maps. A few astute observers might have spotted them. But, and I should stress this, in the case of Der Ring it was heavily reworked and I created brand new AI plans (I had to as I’d chopped and reused bits) etc. So yes whilst some stuff is based on sections of der Ring they are more the offspring – rather than the map wearing a false wig and a pair of dodgy specs… Re the rather offensive swipes about scamming, well, re the master maps it’s pretty clear that as stated on the BFC website that they are “New maps based on maps from the Battle Pack missions”. Years back I used to be with a punk band – another life another story…. One of the bands (way more successful than we were) we did some gigs with, had their singer on one of their records state this quote, it was along the lines of – “Whatever you do they’ll slate you off and criticise you to the ground…” It’s stood me in good stead through life. So aye happy to take the constructive knocks, but I’m less inclined to give credence tae whingers.
  10. Ah yes, thank you! Aye that would be ouchy and frustrating sounds like you’ve got it in hand though
  11. I’m happier now Ive gone into reverse ferret mode!
  12. Ten minutes?! Ten minutes?! I spent an hour working out my opening Soviet moves and you shot em to hell in two minutes… I might cry… Ten minutes…mumble…shakes head…
  13. Ouchy! I'm contemplating these vast forward slopes...
  14. This thread may get help as sounds similar.
  15. I've noticed the BFC website and forum don't like me using my VPN software - so might be that's the issue as noted by @Combatintman
  16. Not laughing - maybe gentle chortling at my cunning plan working Brill - thank you, great to hear, and after all that's a key reason why we play. I hope! Cheery!
  17. I am truly pleased to read your comments - not cos your tanks are burning (well maybe a wee bit... ;)) but that you are enjoying the tactical challenges this scenario poses. Aye they key is to exploit the terrain, and like the Germans in the RL engagement you often have to lose stuff before this becomes very apparent. Yeah PzIVs versus T-34/85s is not a fair match up for the PzIVs - but it is possible to gain an advantage on the T-34s by outmanoeuvring em. Yup mobile infantry was an issue - this is why (3rdPz Div had no SPW battalion at this point as they were still busy being issued new SPW and training) so the recce guys doubled up as panzergrenadiers, but whilst they have lots of tracks not many dudes on the ground and their wee recce teams are not well suited to sustained close combat in urban areas - so treat Rakow with caution. The village is not the prize I'm really please you are enjoying this. Its one of my personal favourites and it gave myself and several of the testers a real run for our money. Look forward to hearing how it plays out. Awra best! Cheery!
  18. Without giving too much away the Soviet tankers you meet are not supermen tankers but two are slightly above average. Though are linked into the Soviet radio net though so reckon your second thought might be whay they have an edge. Also POSSIBLE SPOILER highlight to see There are several Soviet AT gun batteries which in my own playtests killed more stuff than the tanks - though when rounds are incoming it might be hard to tell who is doing the killing. Cheery!
  19. Ah bummer - nothing more frustrating! Okay - I've just set-up a PBEM and played to seven turns with no issues. Files created, exchanged and played. This was done on my own PC. Sp does not look like there is an issue with the actual BP scenario. However I'm not sure what the issue might be. My advice would be to double check and confirm you are both using same game engine version; oh and yank all mods out from your games and try without mods (sometimes issues can be caused by mods). It's a huge map so could be the issue is one or other machine not coping with processing the turn. In anycase this is more an issue for @BFCElvis who I'm sure will have greater insight. In that regard might also be worth filing a tech support ticket? Cheery!
  20. I came across a couple of video AARs of two of the scenarios from the CMRT battle pack. Might be of interest to players? First SPW Training lesson https://kriegsimulation.blogspot.com/2022/11/combat-mission-red-thunder-battle-pack.html and Ill Met By Moonlight https://kriegsimulation.blogspot.com/2022/12/combat-mission-red-thunder-battle-pack.html#more
  21. Nae worries mate Re mods - I create a Z folder in the 'data' folder in the main game directory (default is C drive) and plonk em in there. Yes the mod changes all crushers to M43 caps. No either or I'm afraid. Cheery!
