  1. Glad you liked the Ghost. I have good memories of when I actually had the time to make campaigns. How did you do in that campaign by the way? I never updated it and was wondering if it wasn't totally unplayable after the patches. I have also done a Crossroads trilogy mini campaign which is infantry heavy. Pretty old but probably still playable. I know there is a lot of good stuff out there. Paper Tiger, Normal Dude and others have done some pretty incredible campaigns and scenarios, some of which are infantry heavy. -
  2. I´m checking this. We have skins for the US and separate skins for the Germans. We don´t have specific skin sets for the crew though. The mix up with the skins must have been because I upgraded the German faces first and later ported them to the US soldiers. This should be fixed for the upcoming patch. You guys must have noticed that the textures of the faces now have almost no distortion in the BMP file. Also they occupy a bigger area in the plate. This is so it will have a higher resolution without increasing file size, and also to make it easier to mod. You can for instance just copy your own photo and paste it in there and it will fit without much work. Some color adjustment and blending will be needed for sure but much less than before. -
  3. With all the talk here I think you guys forgot about the helmet issue by now. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. The helmet has been tweaked. Also the chin strap. It does look better, thanks to the comments here. There is a limit to the number of polygons we can use so it will never be perfect. Also it can be placed a bit more to the front, to the back, up and down. All this affects the perception somehow. All in all it looks pretty good IMO. The texture might need a bit of adjusting after this tweaking. Here is a preview of what it looks now:
  4. Roughly yes. However if the system is low on resources it will use the lower res LODs regardless of distance. So, for instance, if you have just two tanks in the scene your example is correct. If you have 30 tanks then LOD2 might kick in at less than 10 feet. -
  5. With the best settings you get the "main" 3D model and texture. However as the models are further away from the camera, LODs(Level of Detail) kick in. These are the same 3D models but with much less polygons/details. Since the models are further away you don´t need so many details. There are usually from 2 to 6 LOD models for each object. With the other quality settings what happens is you get the next LOD even at close view. Since they have less polygons/resolution this results in faster FPS. -
  6. Welcome Adam! With base game and 3 modules you will be busy for a long time! Not to mention Afghanistan. ---------
  7. In screenshots the soldiers do look too much like clones. However in game with the animations playing you will notice some variety. Right now there are 5 variants when the soldier is idle, for instance. So although the soldiers are in the same basic pose they make different subtle movements, like looking at the gun, touching their helmets, etc. There are also different uniform colors and helmet camou. - -
  8. I suppose the threshold is major defeat? I can´t remember how PT did it. What flowchart are you looking at? It sure does include Valhalla.
  9. Yes, please! Oh, that would be interesting. Videos preferably. -
  10. I like to use Gadwin PrintScreen. It´s free and damn good. -
  11. If you are only interested in the maps and not on the scenarios you could look at the QB maps. You will find a lot there, including some (all?) used in the campaigns. -
  12. Welcome Kilogram! You have enough to keep you busy for quite some time in these forums and with all the modules for CM:SF. Search tool is your friend. But also just post your questions here if you can't find what you are looking for. A lot o very helpful and clever guys around here. -
  13. Hm, I don´t think the idea of moving on in a convoy fashion and sort of ignoring the big threat around you is to play it "like is should", as you put it. I imagine the convoy will travel for many kilometers, in line, one vehicle after the other. They will do this as long as there are no threats close by. Once they find enemies firing at them, the sensible thing to do is to stop and let the better protected guys deal with the enemy and then move on. So, this scenario is not trying to depict the convoy on the move but a little area in their route where they had to face the enemy. In that sense the right way to deal with this is what Phil and BlackCat have mentioned. -
  14. PT is taking some time off, since he was really exhausted after the work in the campaigns was over. But he will soon be joining the discussions, I´m sure. -
  15. Guys, I´ve run some more tests and can´t really reproduce the problem. Do me a favor, please post your sound problem in the Tech Support forum. Schrullenhaft is our tech support guy and is the right person to try and help you out with this. Thanks
  16. Hm, just to be clear, you mean you tried the other scenarios in the demo and have no sound problem, only with the NATO scenario? I´m trying to reproduce the problem but so far I can´t.
  17. No luck. I still have the TOW tutorials, which were made at about the same time, in a backup disk but not those two for CMSF. Damn! Sorry about that. -
  18. Oh, those videos. I didn´t even remember them anymore. I´ll check what happened to the links and if I still have them in a backup somewhere. -
  19. I don´t have any sound problems in my system but you if you are experiencing sound issues please post your machine specs and specially sound cards here. We´ll look into this. Also, does it happen only with the NATO scenario or with all scenarios in the demo? -
  20. I agree about the resolution. 720 is the way to go. This videos are great because they show the real deal. I like the fact that you are recording while playing it for the first time also, because we can see your reactions to things that happen and not some sort of "scripted" reaction. I had played this mission myself so I just jumped to some places where I had trouble to see how you dealt with things. -
  21. I´m still not sure how much of a help that will actually be. Please let me know. -
  22. If you guys enjoyed the Alamo you should download the upcoming demo which features the same map but with forces reversed, so you play the attacker. -
