  1. Complete agreement here. I wouldn't even need a graphic representation, just an extension of LOS for units in the affected area. Related subject. Are the IR sights on late model Panthers modelled? I know their numbers were rather small but I was just wondering. Thanks, James
  2. Just trying to add some color to this otherwise drab thread. Lord knows the level of wit doesn't make things any more exciting!
  3. Longer range for command link between mortars and command unit. Often mortars have to be within minimum range in order to be in command in which case they are useless if spotter doesn't have a long LOS.
  4. Good advice redwolf Remember, you don't have to think alot you just have to think well. Be decisive. Even if you mess up at least your guys didn't get killed waiting for something to happen. Just find what you did wrong and fix it next time.
  5. I hope this is included in the next rewrite. I know the Tiger crews used to use flares to great effect.
  6. Is there anyway to get engineers to blow a bridge?
  7. How come there aren't any? Engine limitations?
  8. WORK, WORK!!!!!    Where are your priorities man!!! Typical Austrian ploy to hide behind Real Life.
  9. Great! Now I have a mental picture of Berli sitting around with a plate of mashed potatoes muttering, "This means something..."
  10. Well you can lock them in which case they turn orange.
  11. Not if those green 34s get buck fever as they seem to do and forget to fire.
  12. Somebody turn up the drip on Berli's meds will you, he doesn't recognize anyone. Sad really. RSColonel: if you have time to post you have time to play. Where's my turn?!
  13. That's actually a good question. Do the late model German Panthers have the infra-red sights? I know the Germans didn't have a lot of them but they were there. [ January 13, 2003, 09:18 AM: Message edited by: Sgtgoody ]
  14. When you are in the editor you can place units where ever you want, even outside any zone. Once the game starts units will take the color of the zone they are in and the player will only be able to put them in the same color zone.
  15. Have the human control them. The AI will tend to engage with his tanks at max range (actually with any unit). One methode is to add some terrain to break up the LOS at long range and force the AI to close in for a shot.
  16. Oh is that what that's for. I thought it was just a really wierd cd case.
  17. Is it possible to damage bridges? I have tried in a couple of tests but nothing seems to work. James
  18. You mean the rest of you don't have a high and tight and a tat. The only thing I am missing is the dog (I have a cat with a really bad attitude does that count?) [ January 13, 2003, 09:00 AM: Message edited by: Sgtgoody ]
  19. I know there have already been a ton of threads on this subject but I have to say it. I just went on a Mod grabbing spree and all I can say is WOW!!  Thanks to all of you for your effort. Any new players out there really need to check out what is available out there. Its amazing!
  20. I think the biggest compliment here is that a non-grog/military gamer/history buff thought this was a great game. There are a lot of niche games that a few people will love but the general public will hate. CMBB is just so well done that it crosses over. I guess if anyone does want music we could have all the soldiers humming their national anthems over and over.
  21. Have a plan, but don't fall in love with it. Learn to analyze the map and identify key terrain and then either plan on how to take it or at least keep the enemy from doing so. Take your time to set up your attacks and then be decisive. IOW build up your attack like water behind a dam and then hit the enemy all at once. Dribs and drabs in an attack will only get you killed. Don't worry too much about things you can't control (bogging, weird AI moves) just deal with things as they come up and make the most of them. Remember even a clock that is stopped is right twice a day. Don't just give up on something because it seems usless. #1 Have fun.
