Y'all know what to vote for
SgtMuhammed replied to Wilhammer's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Some guy named Chad kept messing me up. -
Granted, and the first official crossing of the Rhein was by the British. I will conceed the point, however, as I don't want to be a party to the hijacking of another thread.

CMBB axis superiority disproven.

I'm not saying it should be done I'm just stating what you would need to form a contol group since everyone is getting bent out of shape about the posted results. -

It would, though, give you two opponents of exactly the same skill. With that it would be easy to design nominally balanced scenarios and run them to detect build in bias. -
Maybe you need to surround the fords with infantry only terrain (forests and such).

Well I guess you could still count this. Officially the "Battle of Berlin" began when the Soviets crossed the Oder.

Had a girlfriend in Kreuzburg. The best Doner stand in Berlin was next to her house. My favorite place was Sophie Charlottenburg Platz.

Best scenarios for beginners?
SgtMuhammed replied to Joe Costa's topic in Combat Mission - Scenario Talk
Aside from the fact that tanks can die quickly, not much. -
Worst idea yet for a scenario

FIFA on CMBB 11 Tigers v 11 KVs, no ammo, one Kubelwagen (which we will call, "the ball"). Objective is to push the ball past opponents VL (which I have cleverly called, "the goal"). -
Hey! I've been there! Of course I much prefer Kurfurstendamm. One problem with Berlin scenarios is the need to leave out the flak towers. They gave the Soviets hell when they were trying to take the Reichstag. Of course that is one problem with CM in general, no towers. James

Of course a lot of the variables could be gotten rid of if the AI could play itself. -
I think the TacAi sees bridges as a big danger area and would rather use any other approach rout. At least that is what it looks like in the game. If it has no choice the AI will use a bridge but this seems to be a last resort if it does have a choice. I don't know if this is intentional or not.

How to exploit armor supremacy
SgtMuhammed replied to Tigrii's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
Ok, who let G F out of the Peng thread? For me the best way is to keep to the same rules for attacking. Try to isolate parts of the battlefield and clear them with the bulk of your forces. Or you could always turn it into an ME and advance with a small unit (a platoon with a tank) while the remainder are in overwatch/manuever positions. -
PBEM dumb question.....

Don't say that too loud or you will activate the crisis chip in your computer. I never had a Soviet vehicle bog until I said I had never had one bog. -
BFC, when will we know the next project?

Such as "who is Tom Bombadil?" "Was Sauron really Hitler?" "Exactly how powerful was Gandalf?" You think the Stug thread has taken off, you aint seen nothin. -
AJ Tis good to see thee other than in yon email inbox. I thought maybe you were busy digging your putrid Axis combat vehicles (and I use the term loosely) out of the snow you inflicted on us. Are you compensating for your backwards seasons. Fear not for my glorious defenders of the Rodina will quickly end your frozen misery. If they can figure out which end of the tank goes in front that is!

Don't know if we are including heavy bombers in this discussion are we?

Lt. H For the sake of your quest and your frail ego I accept your offer of battle (when it gets here) and have told my men not to laugh to hard at your pathetic beercans on wheels. They have also been instructed to ignore the stench of the enemy commander although this is proving a difficult order to carry out. Heed the wisdom of my sig and one day you may be as wise as the great rodent in yours. Lay on then McDuff... [ January 14, 2003, 03:08 AM: Message edited by: Sgtgoody ]

Lars If you feel your wit and steel to be of a strong enough temper then direct your quest hither. I promise to take your preschool blathering with good spirits and laughter. I also promise to verbally and virtually abuse you and your troops but at least I will laugh about it while I administer the beating. (The extra smiley is for you P.L. )
