  1. Send it my way. I'm going to start working on a few of my own so I will need some help myself. Quid pro quo...
  2. I have seen some Ubergrog books that do show such technical things as rotation speed. Unfortunatly there only seem to be such figures on the glory vehicles. Perhaps the only way to really find out is to get hold of the actual technical manuals for the vehicles.
  3. The penetrations shown are clearly not the work of a 37mm. Compare the diameter of the hits to the size of the 34's cannon as a rough reference. Even if they were they still do not show the main point of contention. The hits are from behind or from side turret with very little slope (around 30 degrees). None of these show the front turret being penetrated. What they do show is how small the aspect ratio of the turret was and how much of an angle incoming rounds would have had to deal with if they didn't strike clean hits to the flat portion of the front face. The discussion is not if the 37 could kill the 34 as it clearly could under the right conditions. The point of contention is whether or not it is ahistorically easy to kill them from the front with 1941 German AT assets.
  4. I would like to see CM3 as being an ubergame covering all of the ETO and Africa. Imagine the replay ability.
  5. It seems that there is a problem with the Allied side. The Axis ones all seem to work fine.
  6. Newer combat vehicles use a finer thread. It takes 17 rotations to unscrew the top of a Bradley. (Boy you don't know how many new privates we get with that one. )
  7. In case you haven't heard yet, the U.S. space shuttle Columbia has disintegrated on re-entry. There are no details yet just that it is gone. James
  8. Hi Mom, I really need some clean socks and maybe a new toothbrush. Hope dad's rash has cleared up. Love, Jim
  9. To give your question the serious answer that it doesn't really deserve, there are no civilians because this is a tactical and not a moral or political simulation. Regardless, the simple fact that you even ask this shows your lack of study and the annoying habit of people to put modern morality on historical situations. Quite frankly the presence of civilians on the WWII battlefield made absolutly no difference to either side. If a village had to be taken it was taken, if there were people there they were dealt with after the fight (for better or for worst). If you want to get your rocks off by exploring the darker side of warfare and human nature the go back to playing FPS games where you can kill all the friendlies you want. 10. There was just that annoying tendency to burst into flames if someone said a harsh word at it. Yeah the Serman was one of the few pieces of Western ordinace that the Russians actually liked. That and the trucks, the P-39, and the 14 million winter boots we made for them. (Here's a bit of irony for you. U.S. troops suffered all through the winter of 44 for a lack of good winter boots while we were cranking out some of the best in the world for the Russians.)
  11. MD I haven't been able to find anything past Lorenz either. I'll keep looking though. I had the same problem while designing a Bulge scenario trying to find commanders for the 26th VGD. Good luck.
  12. We've just all decided not to *bump* this thread anymore but to wait patiently for 1.02 to come out.
  13. AT mines could either be dug in or surface laid. An AT minefield is dug in while a daisy-chain field is surface laid.
  14. The ability to help them do what, put up a tarp or cook some chow? They certainly aren't going to pull a tank out of anything, at least not within the time scale of the game. I want mods of captured Soviet equipment. Those poor guys look so drab compared to my other Ruskies.
  15. Engineers are also called Pioneers. Unfortunatly MG you can find AP mines if you have a unit close to them for a while although I don't think you can find AT mines until something blows up on them.
  16. I don't even want to hear a clarification of your occupation.
  17. Sir AJ With all due respect to your status as a knight of this most honorable thread...DON'T EVER ATTEMPT VERSE AGAIN. That was just plain wrong. From Austrailia Painful words assail the ears Monkeys softly cry [ January 31, 2003, 04:45 AM: Message edited by: Sgtgoody ]
