  1. Maybe this link works: Tips, Guide, and Easter Egg for Easy Red 2 (ongoing)
  2. There is definitely an effect. Above a certain load you are no longer able to run and it is quite annoying (as it should be.) Not sure which realism setting is required for this.
  3. I think I have never figured out how to 'aim' the commands properly, at least without cross-hairs. Hmm, I don't think so. I usually control the gunner, since you can drive the tank at the same time, anyway. Controlling the driver is also an option when hunting infantry. The gunner does a good job in these low-risk situations.
  4. That's awesome! Thank you for sharing your impressions. I never got into the system deep enough to actually control a squad myself. I usually just take the MG guy and run along. It would be interesting to know if commanding a squad does make an actual difference. Best regards, Thomm
  5. Thank you for supporting this fine game! Back when I started, I haven't found any manual. So some first advice: The game is about conquering (or defending) a series of victory locations, usually one at a time. These locations are marked by icons. A 'flag' marks a victory location which was already conquered. There is a different marker for contested victory locations. When on the attack, move towards the 'contested' markers (or follow your squad leader). Eliminate all enemies at the victory location and wait until the icon turns into a 'flag'. You will get a voice cue to move on towards the next victory location. Remaining enemies will retreat to the same location. So, since the action always centers around a specific map location, there is almost non-stop fighting, with very little idle time. Controlling a tank is easier when using the T key to switch to third-person mode. Even though this may be considered cheating. As the gunner, the right-mouse button will bring up the gunners zoom view. Mouse-wheel will switch ammo type. You will have to switch to AP most of the time, because the default is HE. Hope you will have fun!
  6. It is primarily single-player! Do not expect anything else! Multiplayer is great as is (IMHO), but at present few people are online. You are basically fighting along and against bots with two or three other human players, who, when armed with a good tank or a MG, can have a disproportional influence on the battlefield. Best regards Thomm
  7. It is basically single-player. You are a member of a squad or a vehicle crew, which consists of bots. You can also command the squad using basic commands, call in artillery, etc. You have several campaigns to fight through (Crete, Anzio, some Japanese island, Stalingrad as DLC). Additionally, there is multiplayer, even though few people are online. In these games, 95 % of the soldiers are bots, so part of the fun is to find and hit the few human players (most of the time they use the available vehicles, and when on foot, they can often be identified as those who act more self-preserving than the bots ). There is constant action, the game system produces many epic moments. I had to deinstall it (after finishing the Stalingrad DLC missions), because it started to affect my productivity. I intend to buy future DLCs. Love the game as it is light-weight, yet so much fun!
  8. Since it seems to be okay to talk about other games: Easy Red 2 ... is awesome! For just 8,99 € / 9,61 € it offers phenomenal fun! IMHO Best regards Thomm
  9. Okay, so that question (regarding Charles) has been answered in the meantime. I found the following data from Steam Charts most interesting. It is the 30-day average of active players: Combat Mission Black Sea: 23.8 CM Shock Force 2: 23.6 CM Cold War: 9.2 These numbers are frighteningly low. All time peak players for CM:BS was 129. In March 2022, no less. The way I see it is that the true miracle is that Charles was able to pull off CMx2 in the first place, on his own. All that followed is really just icing on the cake.
  10. Well, Austria is supposed to be neutral, isn't she. Not that there are any weapons to send in the first place.
  11. The guy brought the children to Moscow to re-unite them with their Ukrainian mothers. There are 72.000 registered Ukrainian refugees currently provided for by Austria. One of my bosses gave an empty appartment for an Ukrainian family to live in for free since the start of the war. I personally set up a spare bed of mine there. I do not think that your comparisons to Nazi treatment of jews are justified.
  12. One of our mechanical engineering professors once told us that the first thing he does when reviewing a thesis is to cross out all adjectives.
  13. People who make jokes about eating hamsters have no soul. Writing on behalf of our family hamster. I shall bring her a walnut to calm her down now!
  14. Regarding shooting down drones with automatic weapons: Would this not be a perfect use case for virtual reality training tools? Shooting down a few hundred of these things in VR should turn any soldier into a human target lead computer.
  15. Why not use quad bikes instead of fantasy power armor? They should transport the weapons just fine, and the rider could dismount for extra mobility.
  16. I am still scratching my head: Is it considered normal these days to provide the opponent with detailed battle damage assessment via social media?!
  17. I think this article contains photos of the bridge that were not posted so far: https://www.derstandard.at/story/2000139809205/der-brand-der-krim-bruecke-in-bildern
  18. Level 1: Enforce no-fly zone over Ukraine. Provide as many advanced ground-based air and missile defense assets as possible. Level 2: Air campaign against Russian ground forces in Ukraine Level 3: Air campaign against Russian aviation and navy.
  19. There is a great video over in the general forum showing the military using CM for training purposes. Thomm
  20. I am wondering: Suppose Ukraine takes back her territory. What will keep the Russians from shelling Ukrainian territory from their side for decades to come? Only Ukraine counter-battery fire, right? Is this what the future will look like? Eternal cross-border arty/drone exchanges? Or will the Russians indeed give up, eventually.
