Thai – Chang - disgusting stuff. Not as bad as Israeli but close. Terrible hangovers. They sponsor Everton, so obviously lack taste.
Chinese – Tsingtao, OK. bland. About on a par with Becks so nothing you'd go out of your way for.
Salvadoran, Peruvian – not had any specifically but the light South American beer is very good as long as you stay away from Sol and its ilk.
Japanese – Asahi is nice. Sapporo is better but I've not seen it for a while. Comes in great cans as well.
So there you go. Multiculturalism works. And as wargamers, surely we're aware of how bad some of the other options are.

Trying to spread the good word to the tabletop wargaming community in the UK and elsewhere through a video AAR of Buying the Farm:

Been a while since I played so I'm still rusty, but I hope it gets the message across?
Nicely done

To me, shelling the deployment area in turn 1 is the only no no.
Owt else - bring it.

Mine all usually say “praying”.

Yes, totally. Mc stands for McDonalds, which is his favourite source of nourishment.
Do you have any other questions about my PBEM opponents? I mean, I have a lot of scandalous facts to disperse. Like, did you know that JonS sprawls around the mountains of NZ only wearing a loin cloath, hunting for vermins?
Jeez really? He's from New Zealand? Eyew.

I don't think African American troops were used on the front lines, being used as drivers for the most part.
Unless you're doing a convoy ambush?

I'm dying for a pint myself.

My monitor is against a full glass wall, with skylights above. Therefore I vote for in-game gamma controls.
I've actually started setting up a dawn game, minimised the game and come back so I can see the units (the game clock doesn't stop in setup).
Wish I didn't have to use a bug for this.

Other Means is a girl. And icky.
You brute.

Would getting caught be such a big deal?

The one you want (IMHO) is the Niessuh Outer Grid. FWIW.
We do need a "bocage gap higlighting" mod, but the gaps aren't that hard to find.
If you're desparate do {{{{{ till you are at "Fastest", then zoom out. Bocage will be drawn as "walls" with clearly visible gaps.
GaJ
And it will be even more obvious in the shadows.

I'm in a PBEM with 30M turns. Can you imagine sending 30M each minute or so?
So - my guess (guess, mind) is that to give a reasonable experience BFC want to change it so it's not sending the map each time, just the units and changes. However to separate them out in the code is a BIG job.
Personally for me it's not a big deal. I never really played like that, vastly preferring PBEM.

No, there's no command lines option. It's something I'd love to see.
There's a (VB?) utility called PBEM Helper out there somewhere that does a lot of the automation. It actually fakes screen clicks so doesn't need an API, it moves files into the correct directory, creates sub-dirs to hold ongoing games and launches an email client with the return emails. It supports several games, not just CM.
A man who was brave and just could take PBEMH and modify it to run BN. He would be assured the adulation of the masses and would be assured his place in heaven.
Are YOU such a man?

Black Opps level won firing one bullet:
talk about on rails. As soon as you're used to the whizz-bangs they're dull as ditch water.
OFP was the last shooter that *really* got me. I still play some of them for the frantic fun but OFP was the first one that made me feel like I was being hunted. The last as well.

Start a QB, pick both forces and give yourself a difficult but winnable battle.
No, you've got it right, the key is shooting the enemy more than they shoot you.
Engineer situations where a lot of you are shooting at a few of them and you'll win. Decide where you're going to attack by how you can isolate from the enemies side and support from your own.
Put your support weapons in place first.
Use the right tool for the job: indirect fire when the have the f/p advantage, direct when not.
Or throw that out the window when you need to

Welcome back Andreas

Probe - 5 years.
Assault - 10 years
Attack - 15 years
Meeting Engagement - a nice lunch.

I'd assumed so. Let me have a look in the morning when my brain works.
Thanks John.

Brilliant.

I was wondering if it’s possible to virtualise a home PC so it seems single core, then running BN on it...I really doubt it, as there's a lot of low-level calls going out but maybe, just maybe...

Ho ho....I don't know if that is the situation that I would describe...those feelings would be far more dramatic in the picture that you paint.
Losing a Tiger does not give the same feeling as losing a.... well, you know..........
Don't think of it as losing a you know, but as gaining a you know what.

Wards of evil spirits
That's a fair description.

# of turns required = # of turns available + 1/chance of you winning.
120 turns = 100 turns of careful manoeuvre through the first 1/2 of the map + 20 turns of headlong rush through the MLR.
When you think "why is he wasting his arty there" it is *always* your arty.
Any area fire conducted always hits an unoccupied area. Conversely, any occupied area is always unfired upon.
Genius idea + time = weeping.
Any mortar firing on the wrong target will be manned by hyperactive loaders on amphetamines, while any on an ATG will be manned by the 3 Stooges on Ketamine.
