  1. I'm very much hoping that the SDK for PS happens and opens up sandbox functionality for it. At this point, it kinda' looks like that's really needed to give it more momentum. I've so far passed on HLL and probably won't pick it up. Every time Arma 3 goes on sale, I nearly buy it, but just don't want to risk the lost time if I get into it. I spent a lot of time in the Arma 2 Editor for a stretch and know how lost in that world you can get. I really like PS, but the inherent realism limitations of first-person play mean that it doesn't take me long to want to return to CM and spend my very

  2. Hello everyone, Finished my British, Canadian and Polish uniforms and equipment mod. I'm very happy how these tuned out, a lot of hours fine tuning it all and getting it just right. What's in the mod? British: Complete Uniforms - With Ranks Canadian: Complete Uniforms - With Ranks Polish: Complete Uniforms - With Ranks All Equipment/Helmets, changed colours ect. Like always, test them out yourself for a better look than the pictures MORE PICTURES: Click Link below https://imgur.com/a/3ax6xxx ----------------------------------

  3. That's true, but they made it so. They started with making a tank sim, and then changed it to be more of a tactics game. BFC has a tactics game ... it would be great if they added some more tank sim stuff. Like tracks breaking, etc.

It could be that it is full, you can always create more space by deleting some of your older posts from it. They will still remain visible in the thread in which you posted them.

  5. He's fairing better in this alternate reality! Glad you like the map. Sweated this one using aerial images of the terrain to ensure suitable tree cover! Elevation changes were a challenge also. Glad you are enjoying this as I hung off for ages in doing this as didn't feel I could recreate it in CM. So pleased it plays out as a scenario. I've a load of CM stuff in the pipeline - so yes, soon

  6. They could but I'm sure in real life soldiers occasionally (or quite often in fact) used movement that was faster than Move and slower than Quick. Move is a gentles stroll and Quick isn't far off Fast (although I've never raced my pixeltruppen across a field to check - bet someone has though). They could call it "Gentle Jog", "Get a Bloody Shift on" or (my preference) "There is a War on You Know".

  8. It´s mainly, a matter of doctrine (and availability) I think. US, use their BCT´s. In the same manner, Russia use their BTG´s. The BCT´s, is the main fighting elements, of a US division. But Russia, only uses one BTG. From each division, or brigade in Ukraine. And Russia use, a lot more proxy forces. The main difference is: Russia use their best/proffesional soldiers, from the Brigade/Division, in their BTG. In Ukraine, at least. In a US Division, all soldiers are proffesional. So the US, can use all their BCT everywhere, at Anytime!

  9. Thanks everyone, i am aware of Hard Cat rules, i probably should of mentioned as i use them and Frankos rules for Infantry. For me though there is still this gap when it comes to Armour/Infantry Cooperation. I also use the rule that armour can only target enemies it has contact with, or enemies that a friendly unit has 'pointed out' (same action square, tracer, etc) i am more looking for some rules on cooperation, and how messages would be passed realistically. I'll continue to work on my ruleset. Thanks for replying regards slippy

  18. Why not make brand new campaigns? If you are concerned about learning map-making, which can be initially daunting, there are discussions on this site, a guide that comes with the games, and youtube videos.

  22. Yes George he's fine so far. His Tiger and a second one are on the left flank (the old road). Was happy with their progress, although I've just noticed a vehicle sound contact on the far left in addition to the many contacts coming out of Villers Bocage (some being contacts no longer 😉). I re-positioned the other 4 Tigers at the start to deal with the armour which had already passed by. Successfully done, but sadly at the cost of one Tiger due to some sneaky hiding amongst buildings. Great scenario (once again) and the map is excellent, I particularly like the level changes. Thanks

  27. I could talk to significant length about this but the key issue for Post Scriptum is that its core code base is from Squad and significantly behind Squad in features. The end result is Post Scriptum is pinched between Squad and Hell Let Loose. Essentially it largely is attracting a subset of players who want a Squad style game set in WW2 so much that they are willing to forego new features.

  28. FWIW, it was interesting watching the progress of two seemingly-similar games on Steam over the last year: Post Scriptum and Hell Let Loose. Both are tactical FPS set in WWII. The general view is that PS is more realistic and hardcore (but not that much), while HLL is more casual and "accessible." There are a lot of people who play both. To make a long story short, the PS community is significantly smaller, but much better at team communication, with very few problems related to things like intentional team-killing. I have PS and never saw a first-hand incident of it. I think in 6 months,

  36. Since COVID quarantines began, I've gotten interested in wargames again, remembering my dad playing them on the dining room table on weekends (he and his friends played Tobruk, for example). Saw lots of interesting stuff, but not much for a Mac. Then I rediscovered Combat Mission after reading reviews on sites like wargamer.com. I had one of their games years ago, called Beyond Overlord, I think? I recognize the visual style and turn-based format. While playing the demo, I felt like this was the best kind of wargame for me, a lot like the old bookcase wargames. I'm having a lot of fu

    The CM2 FAQ Thread

In another thread I mentioned I had a set of links saved away I called a set of FAQs. I promised to share so here they are. This is an export of the bookmarks for the folder I call FAQs on my bookmark list so nothing fancy and, while I did a little fixing up, this is really how disorganized it is on my computer. This is a combination of stuff I think will be useful to me, issues that come up frequently that might benefit others and totally useless topics that I got tired of answering again and again and or I got tired of googling for the last answer that was given. The order below is not
