Hd Nato

Recommended Posts

Since I can't edit posts and my HD army thread had a whole bunch of my projects packed in, I'll split a few things off to make it easier to find download links and such.

Anyway, here's NATO related stuff, starting with the German infantry release on filefront (including the desert camo Fuchs for kicks, but eventually I imagine I'll have a separate desert german vehicles pack).

HD German Infantry + desert Fuchs

If there's demand for it, I can make more modern German infantry or woodland flecktarn infantry.

What would German Leopard 2 desert camo look like? Plain sand color or something like this http://olivier.carneau.free.fr/photoengins/events/eurosat2010_2/es2010_leopard2a7_002.jpg ?

Have they ever painted a Leopard 2 in desert camoflage? Or would the be like the dannish and cover it in tan camo nets?

I haven't really found any info on the subject.

I think that would be pretty cool.

Decided to go with a two tone Sandbeige/Sandbraun on the Leopard, also took all the dust down a notch. Might go back to the Fuchs and remove the green, not sure yet.

There aren't any Leopards paintesd in desert camouflage (yet), but if they'd be painted they'd sport a 3-tone pattern. Two-tone seems to be accepted by official regulations (although I got no idea what these are), but there also have been seen single-color vehicles simply painted in sand.

There were a number of camouflage colors developed for adjusting camouflage to different environments and they're supposed to simply be painted ove the exisiting 3-tone pattern. Here's some further inspiration for you regarding German desert camouflage:

- http://www.panzerbaer.de/colours/a_relaunch/bw_atf_2_dingo_1.htm - current Afghanistan camouflage

- http://www.op-online.de/bilder/2009/07/09/396364/1949585566-transportpanzer-fuchs-fotowurde-laut-bundeswehr-gefecht-leicht-beschaedigt.9.jpg - another Afghanistan variant

- http://www.armyrecognition.com/images/stories/europe/germany/wheeled_armoured/fuchs_1a8/pictures/Fuchs_1A8_new_fox_Rheinmetall_wheeled_armoured_vehicle_personnel_carrier_Germany_German_003.jpg - no sure if this an official pattern

- http://bwmod.armedassault.info/ - conjecture of the mod team, but possible

- http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/schemes/bw_utf.htm - most applicable would be "Scheme3"

I hope that helps!

Like that PSO pattern? That would be pretty awesome.

Use the plain tan Canadian 2A6M as a template, then just copy that layer a few times in photoshop, use black and white with tint to make each layer one color of your pattern, then cut out the pattern. Easily keeps 100% of the details unlike painting over or using the UVs.
