The mujaheddin used a range of older, often British, guns for various reasons. Early on they didn't have the masses of cheap AKs and the British weapons were common in the region. Throughout the war they still found uses in roles not suited to the AKs. The Lee Enfield was probably the most widely used and notable, it was popular for the reach, accuracy, and power the .303 brought to the long range engagements common in many parts of country. That's the short version anyway.

Surely you aren't talking about that finest of all battle rifles, the FN FAL? You heathen!

Yes I am a heathen! My knowledge of small arms pretty much jumps straight from WW2 to CMSF leaving out a whole range of delicious cold war stuff.

Actually I did think of the FN FAL, but was having some problems squaring what I saw with this:

Somehow the BFT image looks different.

That image doesn't display for me even if I feed the link in to my browser manually. But FALs come in a large variety.

It could be a G3 too, the Pakistanis must've sent over more then a few and Steve brought them up just now. To me though, judging by the hand guard, it seems a FAL.

Who knows, the game may have both!
