TheVulture
When the game is stable enough, get two of the testers to do PBEM quick battle and publish the AAR (of one or both) in instalments. Just a thought. Very much hating the wait for CM:N.... (IIRC there was an episodic AAR as part of the marketing to CMAK).
Lanzfeld
You can NEVER top the Alpha Battle AAR. "Going To Town". Never.
gibsonm
I agree, but the problem is that the game is "in development" by definition and often stuff that works in Alpha 3 wont work in Alpha 4 for example (indeed a vehicle disappeared off the ORBAT from one Alpha to another). In addition the game save files change so battles saved in say Alpha 2 may not load in Alpha 3 or a piece of terrain from an earlier Alpha will break a battle played in a later one. Superimposed over that is the issue that new builds can come out with a pretty high frequency. So your choices are: 1. Pick "a" Alpha and stick to it. This gives you a complete AAR but the downside is that improvements wont be displayed and readers will say "its been two months and nothing has changed". 2. Try to update a scenario "as you go". This reflects the developemnts as initial "placeholder" stuff is replaced by early "drafts" and then "final" versions. But you might only get one or two turns as say the X vehicle that is key to one side's plan disappears off the map in a later build or you can't open the last turn. Lastly the Beta guys are not dedicated paid employees (i.e. they have real jobs, etc.) and so their limited time is spent actually testing the "new stuff" and most of us don't have time to: Play 30+ turns (say of a 30 min WEGO battle) Write up some form of commentary Post all the screenshots, etc. Without abandoning their share of the actual testing and as a result further delaying its release.
