CMAK with an ATI5750 on Windows 7 64 ... or not

If your copy of CM2 is actually CMBB, then is it an old copy that uses disc-based copy-protection or is it a newer version that uses eLicense ? If it uses eLicense, then you may want to read our Knowledgebase article on DEP (Data Execution Prevention).

Another thing that may be an issue is DirectX. You may want to update your DirectX 9.0c libraries/files with this DirectX 9.0c Runtime updater. This will not backdate/remove your DirectX 10/11 support in Windows 7. It will just update the DirectX 9.0c files.

Regarding virtual machines. Typically they are not capable of doing a very good job with most 3D games (with a few exceptions). None of the Combat Mission CMx1 or CMx2 series will work in a virtual machine that I'm aware of. Because of the nature of virtual machines the games cannot access the 3D video hardware and thus will give errors or have a messed up display attempting to run.
