Suicide is painless?

Recommended Posts

Since we have a human crew in a crippled vehicle: why should they suicide at all?

What about a slight change in the background story: beaming of living, biological things is possible, but no metal (we know that isn't possible, do we? smile.gif .

But because of all the electronic noise it takes 30s to target and lock the beamer.

So the crews don't have to kill themselves and you can't leave on an instant.

Actually its probably likely that the suicide means that the crew bails and scatters, being so small they aren't picked up on radar the crew waits 'til the battle is over to be recovered or captured as POWs (In mercenary units being reenlisted on the capturing side).

Sometimes you just can't extract. Usually because of enemy AA shooting down every drop ship that tries to extract you.

I don't feel that suicide is a problem in the game anymore. The bots have longer time before they do, and human players have learned to extract when they are immobilized.

After some more thought onthe subject, I think suicide should be penalized (or the enemy rewarded).

After all, it means you are in a position where you most likely is damaged and do not have any option to extract, usually because of enemy AA cover. The enemy should be awarded for both these acheivements.

OK, sometimes the damage is your own fault (e.g. reckless driving), but the enemy still has air or ground cover that's stopping you from extracting.

(except for those moments when the drop ship just can't reach you because you are at the bottom of a crater or somefink)
