Grapeshot
I remember a long time ago this came up and I don't remember seeing a answer. Will we be able to play CM2 and have 2 vs 2 engagements?
Battlefront.com
Eventually even more than that. We are calling this CoPlay. It will certainly not be in the first release, though hopefully it will be in the second one. Having said that, everything we are doing now is keeping CoPlay in mind. That means we're talking about adding code on top of what we have instead of needing to rebuild the foundation and UI. Steve

General Bolt
Here's a wild dream: How about something along the lines of MMOG? More like MMEMG=Massive Multiplayer E-Mail Game. A cross betwix WWII online and CMX2. Each player gets a company or so and 500M to attack or 1000M to defend. The map goes on for 10's of miles. Btn and Div commanders tell you where to go. Total FOW (hazy gray map) for everywhere on the battlefield outside of your sector on responsibility. 1)Enter your turns and mail them to the server. 2)Somehow the server would merge all the email files. 3)The "MASTER GO" is pressed once every 12 or 24 hours or so. d)Local movies are mailed out or available for download at the server site. 5)Watch your turn, enter your new move and wait 12/24 hours for the next turn. Reinfocrements/Ammo come in once a week or 10 daze or as dictated by the div/corps commander. Sorry , if I've offended the Rehash Committee because, I'm sure this has been talked about in 17 other unsearched threads...

This has been done alot of ways, it works really well to keep games moving no matter if all are participating or not. Plus if everybody is paying attention, the turns will advance when all orders are submitted, so it can go quite fast too.
HarryInk
Along these lines, in a 'CoPlay' set up, have you BTS fellas considered the option for players to assign commands to the AI? This would mean that me and my, say, 3 mates, could fight a battle that had 8 'players', 4 of whom were AI. Maybe we could all attack the AI together... Maybe we could have two teams of two human players + 2 AI players. The human CO could order the AI commanders to take specified targets by placing flags on the objectives. The'll then run alongside the human attacks. Along the lines of the 'master go' thing above, could this be built in to the game? Moves that aren't received go AI and the defaulting plotting player puts up with the result.
