Elmar Bijlsma
Hylten, I reckon it's worth giving it a try. In the past I've had old saves work with newer versions. And sometimes not. Good luck!
Hylten
What is it that makes the savegames incompatible? Will it crash if it doesn't work, or am i going to find something really weird after a few minutes play?

Battlefront.com
A save game is a container of saved data in the form that a particular version of the game uses. Sometimes the data format has to change to correct bugs, optimize for performance, etc. When that happens the newer versions can't easily understand the older formatting. It's very rarely worth a game developer's time to keep the save formats backwards compatible. We're no exception, unfortunately. You can try playing old save games with newer builds. The worst that will happen is the game will crash/lockup. It will likely not have subtle problems that go unnoticed. Steve

Field Marshal Blücher
In general, what I've found is that campaign savegames that were made automatically during the setup phase of the battle are compatible, but savegames saved once the battle was in progress were not. -FMB
