aittam
Here Danasoft propose a very nice freeware, called copernicus, to grab screenshots (nothing to write home about) but also MOVIES! check it out
poesel
Does anyone know such a program for Linux? My Mac Mini is already to slow to play and I'm afraid if I'd run this movie maker I could as well take a screenshot of every frame.

poesel
I'll out myself as a bit nerdy here (well, does that suprise anyone?) but I just wanted to know. I found out that the company I work for owns an unused converter box from analog video to DV. My video card has an S-Video output. So: I coerced my Linux to clone my desktop to the TV-out (but have to run both at 800x600) and put that signal + audio in the converter. Other side is a firewire cabel to the Mac mini. Turn on iMovie and tadaa: Linux in iMovie. Press record and here we go. Nothing spectacular. I embarass myself when losing a Thor to an Apollo but revenge is mine. Noteworthy is a scene where a bot shoots down a dropship with - a heavy missile! IMHO thats enough proof against the AA bots... http://dropteam.johalla.de/download/Video/TwinPeaks_CD.mov Please download, don't stream. Its ~13Mb. Some driving scenes are cut out. ClaytoniousRex
Poesel, what is the brand of that converter box? I would love to find an affordable S-video to firewire converter for recording these videos!
poesel
Its a 'MovieBox DV' from Pinnacle Systems. I think they sell it bundled with their cutting software.
