Hubert's DEVELOPER DIARY for Strategic Command 2!

LOL! That sounds as if we are deliberately withholding information while all of us are playing the game already for months smile.gif Or forgot about the game... "hey, wasn't there some strategic soandso we wanted to release?"

Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is that Hubert is working hard to complete the next milestones, and until then there isn't much new and groundbreaking to report.

Having said that, we do still want to update the dev diaries - but would you rather have Hubert work a week on the game, or spend a week writing up some more or less interesting bits of news?

So, rest assured that there will be news when there are news to report. Pre-release hype has nothing to do with the quality of the game, only with marketing budgets. The enthusiasm will return when the game goes gold, trust me smile.gif

As is said about:

Fair faithful mates,

Swung-open - pearly gates,

And, rock-bottom interest rates ;)

This kind of thing is... priceless!

A good read for all and everyone,

So they'll full well KNOW,

Hubert is in Command!

"Strategic wise," and, even now

As we speak - on the forward ho! GO!

Sure would be nice to see an update ...

Jeff, and Everyone:

I can tell you this much.

Many are the nights that Hubert is working

At 2-3 AM.

In the morning, that is, and

I know, because of the time difference

Between his HQ and my desert field-tent, yeah,

I get EM's there, and then.

Many are the Saturdays AND Sundays

That Hubert is working on getting SC-2, oh,

Just like... how Warren Zevon sang about

That wandering London Werewolf's

Hair... perfect!

I know, because there are inquiring posts

And appropriate responses just about

Every single weekend day.

And night.

This is one of those things that has lapsed

A little,

And maybe there'll be more

And maybe not, but I am QUITE confident

That you and everyone else would rather have

The game - say, by... Christmas Season,

If at all possible, than

A lot of nice, but extraneous stuff.

Is this true? smile.gif

Dave,

Your points are well taken however, keeping the loyal base "feeling" ignored is not good customer rapport.

Like someone mentioned in an earlier post ... "even just tell us your busy and to leave you alone." would be more acceptable than complete silence.

HC's long working hours are definately appreciated but, how long does it really take to say, "hey guys, I am crazy busy trying to get this thing ready ... leave me alone." ?

I mean, come on, it's been months!

Well Jeff,

I can certainly understand your apparent

Desire to see, and hear - more and more,

And then some! smile.gif

I have been around gaming for over 40 years

And this one, this

SC2-Blitzkrieg! is going to be,

IMHO - sensational in all respects.

Bill and I, and now Blashy

(... and some other new testers

may begin to respond as well) are trying

To answer as many questions as we are able,

And there may be a few things

That CANNOT be answered because

There are no definitive answers... as yet.

It is a constant process, and some things will

Change a jot - here and there

As a result of further testing.

Ordinarily we don't respond unless

We are fairly confident

That we won't mislead you.

However,

Feel free to ask.

About anything.

We will TRY to answer

With the best possible, most up to date

Information that we have.

And Hubert responds, as you well know,

Now and again, and

In particular when he is the ONLY one

Who knows the answer, and,

As ever-more tight and taut

Time permits.

With all the info that has been posted by myself and other testers the past few weeks I don't see what is there to be upset about.

We're giving alot of info on the game some stuff we can't answer because of NDA, so Hubert would not even answer those because he most likely wants to wait until he is sure he is going that way or keeping it as a surprise.

Bashy,

I never said I was upset, well slightly miffed. ;)

I guess I should have somehow known that "developer diary" would not have such information and that I should look for a topic named, "I've been permitted to help HC out with questions about the game." tongue.gif

Anyway ... as I am not a "power poster" nor an I one who spends a great deal of time sifting through the forums for the gems of information that are mislabled, maybe you could "sticky" that topic or something? :D

In closing, thanks to all who have been and are working diligently on SC2.
