zappsweden
QPS means the Quick Play System and is used to limit the amount of time games takes. This is done in 2 rules, one rule reduces the amount of time an average turn will take and the other rule put the Stalemate back into 1945. The system can be combined with any bidding system or other house rules ofcourse. 1) This time System uses "time per player and year". It works the following way: If we set it to 40 minutes, then if any side using more than 40 minutes at 1939 Year end could get a penalty. At end 1940, they then have 40*2=80 minutes to meet that deadline, and so on. The penalty for not meeting the deadline (after end of a year) is having THREE immediate consecetive turns without doing anything i.e immediate end turn! HOWEVER, for a penalty to be legitime, the other player has to point it out (like in hotseat chess) by replying "PENALTY" in the topic. If the player does not point it out before year ended he has to wait... since every January adds adds up that years time to the limits. Example (Zapp's turn): Zapp sending ":" Rambo replying ":" Zapp ending turn Rambo sending ":" Zapp Replying "TIME" Zapp post "TIME" in the AAR. The total time used can then be calculated by looking in the AAR since every post has a time to it. It is very important that both players stick the rules and not posting their "TIME" reply too early else one player will get more time and the other less time per turn. Another example: Say we play 40 minutes per year and player. How much time can Axis spend until January 1941 starts? Answer: Since end 1939 and end 1940 have passed we have 2 year ends i.e 2*40=80 minutes max time to meet the dealine. Every year end there is a dead line to succeed. 2) Game ends when May 1945 has been entirely finished. The side with Most Major nation capitals wins. If it is 3-3 then it is a draw. For instance, if Axis hold Berlin and Rome they have 2 points, meaning allies have 4 points (Moscow, Paris, London , Washington) and wins. waltero
The Axis should win if it is a tie? Being that History has been played out. Allies win or lose! NO ties for them. [ April 26, 2005, 07:09 AM: Message edited by: waltero ]
waltero
The idea of any WWII game is to change the outcome. So I would think that if Germany holds on to Berlin at wars end they would win?
jon_j_rambo
How about playing the '42 game w/ bid? That would be fast.
