A strategic level of the game

We have been playing Combat Mission for a long time and find it very amusing. But inspired by the Meta Campaign game and games like Close Combat A Bridge Too Far, we find that there is a need for a strategic level of the game. We think that it could be very funny to play tex. division against division on a number of maps, perhaps with a much more sophisticated winning condition system than in the standard game. Maybe it is possible to make a system with a standard set of maps like in the ASL modules having the computer managing losses, reinforcement etc. Tell us what's your thoughts about a strategic level.
