Erwin
CMRT VISIBILITY CHART.docx Vaguely recall someone asking about a visibility chart. I found this lurking on my HD... Hope it's helpful. Edited October 17, 2019 by Erwin
Bud Backer
Distances are in metres? I have a hard time imagining 170m visibility in thick fog. Am I reading this wrong?

Am I reading this wrong? Whilst this is the theoretical spotting distance I've found (and I'm currently stalking Tigers and IS-IIs in fog in daylight in a playtest and that whilst the blue line reaches out far they don't necessarily ID stuff very quickly in fog. So there is a 'fuzzy' bit between the theoretical distance they can 'see' and actually making a positive ID of something. Which IMO is accurate.
Bud Backer
In my experience the actual spotting distance is for far shorter than the potential indicated by the blue line. Thanks for the info.
Vanir Ausf B
The blue line is actually the distance at which area fire can be plotted. Is some conditions that may be close to the spotting distance but in others, such as a clear night, it could be different by hundreds of meters.
