Armorgunner
In SF 2, the MG 3 has very low rate of fire, sound wise. The MG 3, is in some german squads, and coax, in all Leo 2 tanks IRL MG 42: 900-1500 rpm MG 3: 800-1300 rpm Wouldn´t mg 42 sounds, from the ww2 titles fit better? No idea at what the MG 3 rate of fire is set in the game, as I just have the demo and didn´t came to test play german weaponry. Common sources tell it´s at 1200 RPM. Made a quick audio file (MP3) serving as comparision for what the various RPM sound like. Stitched together from the Demo´s "gun 7 mg3.wav" file. Ordered from low to high: 400 - 500 - 650 - 900 - 1200 - 1500 RPM https://www.dropbox.com/s/svpt4w3u5z2f6ug/RPM Compare.mp3?dl=0

But i dont know att what speed the Germans, and Dutch run their MG 3´s at though. edit: I see that Wikipedia say 1000-1300rpm, on the MG3. If thats the case, the Ksp 94 in the vid. Is for shure at the lowest 1000rpm. All these differente sources Edited February 21, 2019 by Armorgunner

Armorgunner
Off topic: Just saw, that the stabilizer on the main gun, on the tank to the right is not on. Must be the drillinstucturs tank. Since its not fiering either. Just came to my mind Edited February 21, 2019 by Armorgunner
RockinHarry
Had a further look at the Demo, playing Alamo mission. I replaced the MG 3 sound file, which anyway was way too bassy with a MG42 file, which sounds more metallic and brutal. It maybe cuts through too much, but that can be adjusted. Drop unzipped file to data/z and test. https://www.dropbox.com/s/p3ruxx8xyj781lp/gun 7 mg3.zip?dl=0 Btw. unlike the MG 42 in the WW2 titles, CMSF2 apears to just using one single shot file, triggered with each individual shot. Means whatever ROF is set in the game, it should be always correct. Me thinks it´s around 1000 RPM something. RockinHarry
did a bit of search at YT and found a good replacement sound to rip from here: hard to find usefull sounds, as most of them sound either heavily muffled/compressed, distorted or have other disturbing noises. Also the high ROF weapon sounds in the game need to be cut and cleaned more, so that the release part of a sound not too much overlaps with subesequent quick fire shot sounds. Otherwise the high ROF sound sequence sounds blurred sort of. Here´s my take on the MG 3 from source above. Clear, reduced highs and mellow. Unpack desired one into data/z): https://www.dropbox.com/s/9qs6v3j2royczly/New Gun 7 mg 3.rar?dl=0 Edited February 22, 2019 by RockinHarry
