New Uncon Models?

Any chance of a look at any 'Specialist Teams' & 'Single Vehicles' available to these two factions?

In the original game 'Combatants' were limited in their support weapons, if you wanted an ATGM, HMG or Recoilless-Rifle, you had to use the black-hooded 'Fighters'.....Same goes for the ZU-23-2 Technical and as we've come to learn, EVERYBODY uses those!  ;)

Airborne has their own textures (but the difference is subtle).

I believe Airborne use three-colour camo in the original CM:SF (maybe it's Airborne Mech), I was contemplating using them to represent troops from Iraq's 9th Armoured Division, to distinguish them from CTS (Syrian SF with black uniforms), Iraqi Regulars (Syrian Mech) & PMF (Syrian Reserve Infantry/Militia).

Not to rain on your guys' parade but if the Fighters and Combatants all shared the exact same weaponry all that would distinguish them from each other would be their clothing. I am not sure I see the point on this one, outside of fashion.

Combatants are very much neighborhood guys with guns. Fighters are proper jihadists, probably with foreign financing and foreign soldiers. They have a better command structure, heavier equipment (they even have AA missiles), plus they're blessed with suicide bomb IED cars, something the neighborhood militia combatant  doesn't have.

Oh, and BTW, I'm in the middle of whipping up last minute texture changes to German Leopard 2s. I think after the game's released I'll upload a Turkish Leopard 2A4 texture as a 3rd party mod. So  people can play Turkey vs ISIS, Turkey vs Kurds, Turkey vs US... ^_^

Very off topic, but I don't suppose you could work out the dimensions of the Turkish flag on the turret in 1/72 scale for me could you?

I'm planning on building a Turkish Leo, the flag's the only thing that eludes me.....The smallest Turkish flag decal that I can find is 3mm x 2mm

PS - Oh look that Jihadist has a MANPAD.....The CIA will be very upset!  :o

Reserve & militia textures are still in flux. Last I heard the plain 'reserve' textures mad be allotted only to militia. But that's up to Steve.

That would be excellent. Not hamstringing us with shared textures is the way to go.

Incredible work on the faces btw. That dude in the first pic looks really good.

Means this, that reserve-units use the same textures like the regulars or does this means

regulars -> own texture

reserve > own texture

militia > own texture

First a couple of Reserve guys, second a group of Militia.  Reserve Bns come with mortars, MGs AT weapons(RPG sections), grenade launchers. Militia just have rifles. No support weapons.

Hot damn these look fantastic! Who is the texture artist for the infantry skins? That guy needs a raise!

Quick question concerning the radio on the soldiers back. Is this a placeholder effect from the model files being used, or will the reservists actually have a radio like that on release?

Ideally it would be great if

militia, reserve, mech infantry, Republican Guard, airborne and special forces all had separate textures. Even if the camo stayed the same on some (Mech, RG), having them all with their own unique bmp names will give modders a lot of freedom to design. I hate shared textures. Hopefully it'll be close.

That's a Co. Hq unit picture.

This.  So much this.

Unique bitmap names for the different branches (regular, Republican Guard, etc.) would greatly enhance flavor, and would be especially (although not exclusively) helpful for red v. red scenarios.  Heck, in CMBN there are three different textures just for US airborne in order to provide the correct divisional shoulder patches.  Different textures in the "appearance" drop-down menu would be ideal, but failing that please at least provide unique bitmap names for the different branches to give modders a chance.

Please let this mean different textures for reserve and militia that are different from regulars, not that reserves will be tossed into the same indistinguishable bitmap corner with regulars, Republican Guard and so forth.  Otherwise, CMSF2 would have even less red v. red potential that CMSF1 had, because only the most poorly equipped militia would maintain any visual distinction from the rest of the Syrian army.

Please don't close out player options for red v. red scenarios.  Please.

(By the way, the Syrian textures look nice.  Thanks for posting them).
