The Red Army on Parade 1917-1945

Recommended Posts

This is a recent tome which looks like guaranteed happiness and sanity loss all rolled into one. Has anyone here read it or at least glanced through it? Found this book while trying to sort out what really happened in an eight part "Spies Must Die" series. The publisher, Canfora, plans a volume 2 which  will take things up to 1991. Coverage includes tons of photos, and not just of the Moscow May Day Parade, either, such as parades in other major Russian cities and the Victory Day Parade in Berlin, where Russia freaked out the West with the brand new IS-3 heavy tank. Discussions include what was and wasn't shown at the parades and why.
