Doh! It was transparency anti aliasing being set to supersample - off or multisample are acceptable.  I guess it was different for FB than the other CM games I have.

Same effect in other games for that setting.

LOL with alcohol all the games would look like that.

You can have separate profiles for each game so those anti alias settings could be different for the other games.

That was exactly what happened Ian. CMBS, RT and A all had the same profile, while FB was slightly different!
