Catacol Highlander
Thought I'd pop back into BF - used to play CMBB and CMAK all the time, but fell out of love with the series because the new CMBN engine didnt support multiplayer TCP wego effectively. What's the situation now with multiplayer formats? Can TCP games happen with an ability to replay each 60 secs as many times as needed? Or has the engine developed any new slants to online multiplayer?
PIATpunk
no new features to tcp MP and Steve has said that TCP wego replay won't happen in CM2 (but did not hint it would in the next). In its current format it's reasonably stable, there's a few minor bugs hanging around but no show stoppers Edited December 19, 2017 by PIATpunk
PIATpunk
Just adding another comment here - would love to see the next engine have a separate mp TCP server (linux preferrably) that players can host themselves, that will support more than 2 players, and for a bonus, allow other players to connect and observe the games. And /or... give me access to the appropriate source code and I'll coerce my son to write it (full stack dev). :-) Edited December 19, 2017 by PIATpunk
